Came in very good condition.

I read this book in a very short time and went through a whirlpool of emotions while reading it. Definitely opened my eyes on the the curmudgeons in my life.

Good. But the book size and paper is of ok quality. Probably that’s how massed produced covers are.

This is a warm, humorous and compassionate story of an older Swedish man facing some challenging circumstances and of the events that he deals with. It provokes laughter and tears, sometimes simultaneously. Anyone with relatives from that era (or perhaps with relatives from Scandinavia) are likely to recognize some of Ove's qualities. The actual writing is beautiful and it's a joy to observe the unfolding of Ove's story, past and present. I hope to read this in the original one day (and to watch the Swedish film based on this book as well). This type of book may not be for everyone, but I love it and have been recommending it to friends and family.

Das Buch zum Lachen und Weinen. Ich habe es verschlungen. Die Verfilmung mit Tom Hanks werde ich bestimmt nicht gucken, weil schon nach 30 Sekunden im Trailer zwei unnötige Abweichungen waren. (Warum muß eine persische Frau aussehen wie eine Durchschnittsamerikanerin?).Da ich noch nie etwas Ähnliches gelesen habe, kann ich das Buch mit nichts vergleichen. Es ist aber schon als Weihnachtsgeschenk bestellt.

Its so good. I'll cry. Buy it please. Do yourself a favor. Its realistic fiction and beautifully talks about hope, second chances, and innocent pleasures of life. It has a smartly crafted love story of this old grumpy sod called Ove. It has a feisty nosy neighbor who our story can absolutely not go without. It brings in the soft warmth of amicable feelings rising once again in Ove's heart after his neighborhood turns out to be more than just a bundle of brick houses. Its the first every book i annotated and the first ever book i forced a friend to read because it was THAATTT GOOD.
