Walker Books Ltd The Pigeon Needs a Bath

Don't be put off by my 3 star review, I generally prefer real classics with beautiful illustrations, but this is so quirky and amusing that i decided to go with it. The Pigeon is a funny character who comes out with every excuse in the book to avoid bathtime, just like a child. My 6 year old nanny-child really enjoyed it especially being able to read it himself! It's so funny at the end when the Pigeon realises he loves his bath once he's in and won't get out. The only thing missing is an extra last page where the mum tries to get him out of the bath and he refuses. That would have rounded off the story better, as it is we leave Pigeon just as he's about to refuse to ever get out....but that's left to the imagination.

Fantastic book

Such a funny book my 4year old daughter loves it. Especially calling out too hot too cold. Really nice illustrations in different styles to keep the young reader interested

My kids (2years, 4 years and 5) love it. Simple. Lovely pictures.

Hilarious! Good for getting children reading as very little text on each page but manages to be very funny and not 'dumbed down' at all.
