Fits perfectly
it fits perfectly, I have replaced my laptop's HDD with an SSD for windows and softwares, and used this caddy to use HDD for common storage, I think this is the best practice to upgrade your laptop

Good construction but wouldn't fit into a standard CD slot!
I bought this to replace my CD drive on the laptop with a SSD. Firstly it would not go in and attach itself to the port inside the slot. Eventually I had to take apart the laptop cover and force it on to the port. The device was recognized well, however after a few minutes an error message sound kept ringing, and the laptop got mighty hot. I disconnected the tray and reinstalled the CD drive, and the sound and the heat went away. I wonder why. Wish I could get a return on this.
