Fits like original
The brush is just like the original and fits perfectly. The locking lug lines up without effort. Good buy for the price. Bristles of the brush are soft enough that it doesn't scratch.

As hard floor attachments go, this design is the best.
This is a great product. This is an older design but in the 43 years I've been keeping house, it's the best. It's a simple design. I have used others but the brush is at the very front of attachment and suction channel is behind so as you push forward brush is pushing dirt forward and when going backward anything dislodged behind the brush doesn't get sucked up. Or attachments that have brushes around the outside edge of the attachment. This attachment, having brush in the middle, directly under the suction tube, makes it possible to suck up everything regardless of your direction. There is a small brush perpendicular, at each end of the long brush so even moving side to side dirt is sucked up.

An improvment on the original!
My Hoover Portapower is is about 35 years old, purchased at Costco all those years ago. Though this attached floor brush is not as wide as the original (about 12 Inches), the arrangement of the brushes is much better than the original. I know this is really for hardwood floors or linoleum or tile. But, actually, it is amazing on low pile carpet. Yes, you have to pick off the debris off the brushes to be sucked into the vacuum. But, it gets so much off the carpet. The Portapower is very lightweight, so this makes it ideal to vacuum carpeted stairs.
