18 September 2022: Every weekend we go get our produce from the historic Haymarket in Boston Massachusetts. The stands all offer plastic bags to every customer for packaging the various fruits and vegetables, but the city has an initiative to eliminate plastic waste so I am conflicted about accepting these offered bags. I purchased these mesh bags as an alternative to gathering the plastic bags for my produce.They come in three sizes and I'm delighted by how much can be placed in even the smallest bags. We've managed to place six apples in the small bags. I've also been able to place four green plantains in the small bags. The middle size bags have held over three pounds of green beans or a flat of mangoes. Finally, the largest has easily held the largest sweet potatoes with room to spare.I love how each size is colour coded for quick identification. I'm also fond of how easy cleaning the bags has been. I've honestly only had to run the bag through water and basic dish soap to fully clean the materials. They dry quickly once rinsed and store easily by folding to smaller stacks.I highly recommend these mesh bags for eliminating the plastic bags being required. I haven't owned these bags for long enough to determine how long they'll last, but even if they only last a year for the price they've already been a great value.

Love these produce bags, except for the design of the cord. Pulling the bag closed leaves one long cord which tends to get tangled in everything else during checkout, bagging and storing produce at home. I would prefer to have a dual cord so that there are two cords, each exiting the bag on opposite sides. You pull on both cords to close the bag leaving a shorter cord on each side of the bag.
