I purchased this laser on September 10th 2015, I have had this laser for 2 years now. I personally leave the main power button (bottom of unit small square click-lock button) on all the time. It does seem to put a small drain on the battery this way, but if you check it weekly/bi-weekly and charge as needed you should be fine. I had a problem a few months back where both of the supplied batteries seemed dead and the unit would not power on even after charging the batteries. I was highly disappointed and pretty much gave up on it and was about to order a different brand of laser/light when I decided to try to charge the batteries again. IT WORKED!! The NiteCore charger that is included is an excellent intelligent charger that works very well for other larger batteries that I have as well (18650, flashlight, e-cig batteries, etc.) *You can also buy popular name brand 1/3N size batteries (used for cameras, laser sights, tac lights, etc) They have short 1/3N batteries that you can stack, or CR1/3N 3V lithium batteries, I noticed Laser-tac recently started selling improved version 11340 replacement batteries for this and 2 other models of this unit. Don't give up on it so soon as other reviewers have, they probably threw away or are wasting perfectly good units just because of the batteries!! THE LASER AND LIGHT ARE WELL BUILT AND WORK SPLENDIDLY! The Green laser is super bright and the light is bright for its small size!

This thing throw a awesome beam. My only dislike. Its power switches are not the easiest to hit. especially the main cut of switch. The good side of this is that I have it set up for home protection. Now I am no longer the scared homeowner coming down the stairs to investigate whats going on. Now, the laser and tac light lead the scared home owner. Those two beams are a good exclamation point to an intruder that someone is coming and they have the ability to light you up, and put a dot on your chest.The laser is amazingly bright at night. I shined it out over 200 yards across a field at night. I used it on a target in bright daylight and had to concentrate to pick up the dot close in, but it was definitely there.I sighted it in two ways. One I got close to a target and shot and adjusted till I was in point. the other way was to use a red laser in the chamber and then adjust the green do to the red.

This combo just plain works. Put it on a Ruger SR9C and it fit perfectly. looks a little bulky at first but the functionality and ease of use is great. Had it at the range and everyone was asking about it. set the laser parallel so it is the same at every range( for a hand gun). If i had to pick on one thing, i would prefer the light had a few more lumen and had a strobe function. But all in all the light is very good(more than adequate in house, at night) the laser is great and being able to recharge the battery is awesome. Cant speak to durability if dropped or thrown around. I would recommend this product.

Bought this for an XD40. Took over a week to arrive, and comes in really cheap packaging. The charger is very poor quality, and even started to heat up and malfunction when I tried to charge 2 batteries at once. The laser/light itself is very bulky on the gun and does not fit well on. The light is not very bright at all especially for the money you're paying for. Originally I bought a holster here on Amazon specifically made for a laser/light combo and this combo does not even fit in it. Very disappointed with that, and it's going to be very difficult to find a holster that's not custom to get the right fit. There's also a reason they don't show a picture of the back of this laser/light... There's an exposed switch- that stands out- to change between light, laser, or laser/light combo and the whole unit itself does not sit flush with the trigger gaurd. It just doesn't look well on the gun, but it works. Solid 3 stars though.

The laser sight is fine, holds it accuracy on the range. However, the BATTERIES are AWFUL!!!!! Charge therm regularly, they stop accepting a charge within a couple of months, Don't charge them regularly, they stop accepting a charge after a couple of months. The Seller has replaced the batteries for me several times,and even stated that they had "improved" the batteries, I have not seen any improvement. Bottom line, DO NOT BUY if you will depend on the laser sight, as the battery will probably be dead when you need it most.UPDATE: Turns out is is not the batteries, it is the CHEAP BATTERY CHARGER! Lithium batteries have a "go to sleep voltage", and if the battery falls below that point, the battery goes to "sleep". To awaken it, good chargers hit the battery with a higher voltage for a brief time, maybe a few seconds after which the battery will charge normally. The only reason to provide a cheap charger is to sell more batteries or to save a dollar on the charger. Not a good business practice in any case, especially for an item which could impact the customers life in a critical situation.I found a work around to awaken these Lithium batteries. You need a wire a few inches in length with an alligator clip on at least one end. Attach the alligator clip to the negative (-) side of a 9 volt battery (the negative side of a 9v battery is easier to attach the alligator clip), set the positive side of sleeping Lithium battery on the positive (+) terminal of the 9v battery, and briefly touch the other end of the wire from the negative side of the 9v to the negative side of the Lithium battery. BE SURE TO CONNECT POSITIVE TO POSITIVE and NEGATIVE TO NEGATIVE, OTHERWISE YOU MANY RUIN THE LITHIUM BATTERY. Hold it for a few seconds, then try to charge the Lithium battery. if the battery isstill usable, the charger should show a percentage and continue to charge the battery. I was able to restore 2 batteries using this technique.None of this would be necessary with a decent charger.

Love this little laser light combo add on. It fit perfectly with all the nine mm's that I have whether compact sub-compact or full size. It is adjustable connections let you really personalize the feel of the sights. Love it. And well worth the money. Only thing is that once connected doesn't fit in holster.
