Works for Youth Pastor
I bought this to replace the lapel mic we had been using for our youth pastor. Its one of the cheaper Sennheiser wireless units, and we kept having feedback problems. going from a lapel to a headset helped with that. This was an affordable option that consistently gets the job done. The audio from it is clear. We initially had an issue with overdriving the mic getting a lot of clipping from it, but that was a placement issue. once we adjusted it, everything has been fine. the youth pastor says its not super comfortable, but he likes the consistency from it so that offsets the discomfort. And the more he uses it, the more comfortable it gets because we keep tweaking the fit with each use. I would buy this again for this purpose.

Makes a good fiddle mic!
I use this mic in place of a contact-type mic - it aims at the top of my fiddle and picks up its sound nicely without the bow-string noise I was getting with regular piezo pickups I've tried. As a bonus, it is a vocal mic for when introducing tunes and talking with the audience (I don't sing). Sound quality is good. I do need to use the included tiny muffs when performing in windy outside venues. You can get extras here: JK® MIC-J 060 Foam Mini-size 0.59"*0.39"*0.12" Windscreens For Lapel Lavalier Headset Headworn Microphone 5-Pack Update: After using this mic successfully for four months I began hearing a crackling sound when I moved. After a while the mic was unusable so I contacted JK Electronics through the Amazon 'Ask Seller' feature, explaining the problem. I received an immediate response: "I am sorry to hear that. The problem should be the detachable part according to what you have described. It's difficult to confirm if it is the cable or the headset issue. We will send you a replacement directly. You need not to send it back since we do not sell the used mics. It will take one week to arrive. Best regards, JK ELECTRONICS". Sure enough, a week later I have a brand new, functioning headset mic. Thanks JK for your excellent service! By the way, I tested the old mic with the new cable and the problem is with the connector on the mic. That connector is crimped onto the mic shaft and is absolutely not serviceable. Thanks, again, JK for replacing my mic so quickly.

These are great mics for the price
These are great mics for the price. You can afford to have several and throw them away if you do have any trouble. I have not thrown any away. The only problem we have had with them is the small screw buy the ear peace sometimes will work loose. If you do not notice it can fall off and become lost. A very simple and quick fix is a small zip tie takes care the the problem permanently. They may not be the same quality as a $500.00 mic but but not that much below and most of us can not afford to have a have dozen $500.00 mics at church. It think you will be surprised at just how good they are for the money. I like the idea of the double ear peace. It makes it stable. Single ear mics tend to plop around if you move much when speaking or if you sweat a lot. These are very stable. The wires can be bent to make them comfortable. Don't judge them out of the box until you bend and adjust to your head and used them for a couple of times. Like many things there is a slight learning curve having something new. Once you have used a head mic for a few weeks you will never go back to another type of mic.

Great little headset
Great little headset. The double ear is great for keeping it stable while moving and being very active. The microphone works great. I had seen other reviews mention that they have problems with it being near monitors and mains. I could tell that it would have that problem once I started testing it out. But that problem is very easily fixed if you have the right equipment. First the EQ and gain structure are vital. You need to get the gain just right then EQ. Once you get into the EQ you will need locate the frequency at which the vocal gets muddy and loudest and bring it down and start getting less of those frequencies. After that's all settled a sure fire way to keep it from getting feedback is to very very lightly throw some gating and compression on the channel to help boost the quiet moments and shut of the microphone when they stop speaking/singing. There's lots of helpful vids on YouTube. Lastly the reason I gave four stars. The metal ear piece needs some padding on it. On the right ear unless you really really manipulate it. It will dig in to your ear just enough to make it sore after a while. Other than great sound out of it great price and worth the buy

Good Lightweight Headset Mic
First, I want to emphasize the "lightweight" comment in my headline was not meant to be a negative statement. I saw others comment that this headset was too lightly built, or even flimsy. I think that the headset is lightweight so that it is unobtrusive and comfortable. We all know that heavy, thick, plastic frame glasses are more rugged than wire rimmed glasses, but many of us select the lighter glasses because they are more comfortable and make only a subtle change to our looks. However, just like light glasses, this headset does take a bit more care. This, (and all microphones), should not be subject to rough handling. While on the subject of comparing this mic to glasses, it needs some tweaking to get a good fit for each individual. Therefore, consider each headset a custom device for one person. When I got mine fitted properly, I took the additional step of gluing all the frame components with a small dab of clear E-6000 to lock in my fit. Now, I pop it on, and everything is adjusted. I use the headset mic for singing, and it produces great quality sound when levels are adjusted properly. The most likely component to fail is the cord, so I consider it an advantage that it can be easily replaced. Oh, one last thing, the MIC-J version of this headset, unlike what some reported, does allow the mic boom to be easily moved to either side of the headset.

At a tenth the price of a Countryman, I can't really complain SOUND - Good. Although the gain is higher than the Countryman, it still is not so high that the EW100 distorts, unlike some cheaper $10-20 mics out there FIT - Those with large / wide heads will have a problem because the the band behind is not exactly long and if you have a big head, the earhooks won't fit well CONNECTOR - Plugging the 3.5mm in is easy ... but however hard I try I just cannot screw it on securely, unlike the Countryman or the $10 cheap mic I have.... . it still works just that the screw thread could have been 1mm longer...

I was a bit circumspect about the sound quality but all went well with good sound. The construction is ok, there is no much adjustment possibility but it fits well on most of persons.
