I wish I had bought this sooner
Nice versatile little kayak! Got this to add another kayak to my fleet. Ran Class II rapids this past weekend and love this purchase! Needed something more nimble for fast moving rivers. I'll be trying this in the ocean breakers later this summer.I kind of like the snug seat - you feel secure and in-control. The supplied foam seat is adequate as long as you're not spending 8 hours on-board; may want an upgrade.

Minor issues on receiving, but otherwise a pretty nice kayak
Purchase last week, arrived on a scheduled delivery on Saturday morning.First I will cover the condition it arrived in.It was wrapped in cardboard, and then bagged in plastic. Both where on the loose side. Over all, it arrived in great shape. With two exceptions. One pad-eye was broke. And one of the quick clips for the seat was missing. I will admit, I did not bring these to attention of amazon or the manufacturer, as they were easier to fix for me that i would have been to deal with customer service. I had pad-eyes (5 minutes to drill out the broken one and replace), and I had clips, 15 seconds to put one on. *shrug*I am new kayaker, so the rest of the review is from that point of view. I have kayaked on two other occasions for a day each, both times several years ago.I dropped the kayak in the water the day I received it. It floated! so points there. :) I loaded up, and sat in the kayak. It still floated, even better. But I did get some water in the footwell area through the scruppers. (I am about 6', about 195# for reference). Not a lot, but enough to be annoying. So I climbed back out, let some of the water drain, and then installed the scrupper plugs I had bought, then climbed back in. I then paddled for about an hour, upwind/upstream for a while, then back down, and around the marina. I am really out of shape, but the kayak seemed to paddle well, though not a speed demon, was averaging 3-4mph on flat water. The "keel" design helped keep this shorter kayak in a straight line. I felt it tracked really really well. Only when I stopped paddling, and let the current/wind take me did I get sideways. The seat seemed comfortable enough, I didn't notice it being under padded. The foot rests are a bit narrow, I was able to get about half of my size 11's on them, but enough to keep them secured. I didn't move around a lot as I am new, but the kayak also seemed pretty stable.Overall, I recommend this kayak.

Cracks appeared after one year of use.
A little bit heavy on the ground, but awesome on water! Seats are not for plus-size people.Update after one year of use: tiny cracks near holes in two kayaks !

Three Stars
This is a nice kayak, but did not come with a paddle. Luckily we had one.

So happy with my choice
After much research & deliberation, I settled on the frenzy & I have no regrets. I needed something small enough that I could handle loading & unloading it from my car by myself, but also wanted a good sturdy sit on top.I was slightly concerned by some reviewers saying the seat is narrow & uncomfortable for larger folk during longer paddles. I'm a solid size 12-14 female & I think there's plenty of room. It's snug, but not the least bit tight or uncomfortable. I don't think I would want any more room to wiggle around. I'm 5'5" & there's plenty of room to stretch out. The storage areas in front & back can hold all kinds of stuff. The only bummer is my dog doesn't really fit with me. She's a large dog & would fit, but then I would be stuck in one spot & wouldn't be very comfy.Another thing I was concerned about with choosing such a short kayak is how it would track. All the other ones I was considering were 10-12 ft, so this was my shortest option. I ultimately decided to prioritize ease of transportation over quality of ride on the water. However, I really don't feel like I lost much. This thing tracks really well for being so short. I mostly paddle around lakes on day trips, so it's not like I needed some kind of serious touring model. I'm also excited to try it out in the surf. Never tried that but it looks like fun.My only negative mention is the shipping time. To be fair, they do say shipping could take 1-2 months (it only took a month), so it's not any surprise. It's just a long time to wait.

It easy to carry...and can keep up with the 12 kayaks!
I love this kayak! It’s easy to paddle, and only 9 feet long, so I can carry it by myself. The side handles are perfect. My friends have 12 foot kayaks, but I can hang with them on my frenzy. It’s great exercise and stable when the big boats send their waves my way! I love it. It may even fit it my van ???

Narrow seat but great value
This is my first kayak purchase and I was super excited to get the yellow Frenzy - all of the reviews I've read online were positive emphasizing stability, durability, light weight and great price (I agree with all of the above). Obviously I purchased this product online, so I was eager to see it in person. I rushed to unwrap it like a kid on Christmas morning, and when I went to sit in it, I was disappointed to feel how snug I fit in the seat. I am a plus size lady and my husband is a 6'2" XL guy and we made our final purchase decision based on weight capacity and width of the kayak (31", wider than most). HOWEVER, the mold of the seat is a mere 18", narrower than most! I am on a weight loss journey, so by summer's end this will be a mute point for me but I think it is imperative for extra-large kayakers to beware. On a positive note, there is ample leg room, my husband's long legs fit well and I am able to stretch out my legs completely (this will be great for lounging back in my yak and taking in the summer sun!) Over all I am satisfied with the Ocean Kayak - Frenzy, it is a quality product at an affordable price.

False Advertising!
I love the kayak. But the way it was pictured on Amazon I thought I was buying two not one single kayak, it makes me think ‘false advertising’ why picture 2 together? All others are single except when 2 are sold together. I’m not a very happy kayaker!
