Survillance Camera IP/Network/ CCTV Camera with 720P Waterproof IP66 (36 IR LEDs) Abowone Bullet Type

I''m guessing I just received a bad one based on the other positive reviews. I'm an experienced IT geek but I just couldn't get this one to work. Camera would not accept DHCP IP address, it was not visible in any of the obvious subnets, the included software CD could not be read by my old external CD ROM drive. (Does anybody still use CD ROM drives?) When I finally found the vendor's tool online, it could not locate the camera. Even if it had worked, I second the other reviewer's opinion that I should not have to install shady software from a broken website to configure an IP camera. It should grab a DHCP address or have a static one listed in the instructions and offer up some browser-based UI. When I posted a question online asking for default IP and specifically stating the vendor's software could not find the camera, the vendor only replied that I was to use the software.Assuming you get one that works, it's a solid build on the outside. I really like the all metal construction and the single network/power cable routed through the mounting system. This would have made for a really clean install.

It's a decent camera. The LED's work fine and it gets a clear picture in most environments. It's not POE (didn't advertise it was, but I hoped) and it also has no identifiable way to change the language to english on the web interface. It doesn't get an IP address from DHCP, but I found mine to be on 192.168.1.120/24. Once I added a secondary IP on my ZoneMinder based system it detected it and configured it via ONVIF with no issues. Works great via UDP with 24 bit color at 720x480 and the image is on port 554.Fickle, but works just fine. Won't be adding another one since I can't find a way to change the IP currently. If I find there is a way without adding an app or other method that doesn't use the web interface, I will gladly update with instructions to do so.For those that want to know how I got the IP, I plugged it into my laptop with tcpdump running, and found it attempting arp requests. I then knew it's IP. I am happy with it having an "odd" IP on my network as it will then never route to the internet. I run my network to not allow these types of devices onto the internet to prevent covert communication and other "features" the manufacturer puts in.

Arrived defective. Customer service was a joke. I sat in front of my computer for 2 hours waiting for them to teamview into my computer and they spent a total of about 20 seconds to tell me it must be defective, which I had already figured out. Instructions are useless and misleading.
