Parenting with Love and Logic: Teaching Children Responsibility Review: Practical Advice for Situations All Parents Deal With - This book was recommended to me by my parents who are elementary teachers that’s were introduced to this book in education conference, and felt it made a huge difference in their ability to work with kids. I order it right away but, it sat on my shelf for awhile before I picked it up. Now I can’t put it down and already ordered another one for my friend though I’m not finished reading it yet. What I love is that, from page 1, it addresses basic parenting scenarios that we have all experienced or witnessed with a breath of a prayer and promises “my child would NEVER!” Then, fast forward 6 months and guess what? You’re THAT parent. I cannot tell you how many times I ready a chapter or a few pages and wish I had read it the day before to have a better way of dealing with a situation. Honestly, we have good kids. I didn’t think I was doing that bad of a job (most is the time), but feel out of control other times. The thing is, this book clearly lays out different parenting styles and why each of them work OR why they do not work (it’s easy to tell really quick what you/ your partner gravitate to) along with the intended result and actual results. But it leaves you feeling empowered with tools to deal with things without making it feel judge or condescending. The reason I want to try these techniques is because I recognize in my own life the downside of how my parents raised me and struggles I still deal with as an adult- and, same with my husband, close friends etc… I quickly recognized unproductive parenting techniques that I need to seriously revise, reevaluate or eliminate. It’s super hard, especially when you’re in the thick of a problem. But, this provides practical solutions and already want to re-read the book and I still have a few chapters to go. Encourage your spouse or partner to read this too. It’s way harder to parent when you’re also approaching the problems differently. Last, although this book is by Christian authors and comes from a Christian perspective, it does not feel like it’s pushing an agenda. It’s appropriate for a large audience of people who have or work with kids of all ages. It’s a relief to know all the situations you deal with others deal with too. And, there is a possibility of having more joy and less stress in your parenting! Buy the book! Good luck! You’ve got this! Review: Parents should read - This was a great read. It has helped so much. I would recommend this book for everyone! It has great ideas and I found it excellent!

Saved my parenting life!
I am a new step parent trying to find my place and role with the kids! Learning how to teach life skills and discipline in a loving way is HARD. I was shared this book by family friends and it has been life changing for me. It's logical (haha) and has lots of examples to follow. It helps you get past getting emotionally taking on the responsibility of your kids emotions and instead helping them learn through real life consequences of their actions. Its changed my life.

Good read
I think this book is easy to follow and gives sound advice. Good read overall. I have a pre-teen and felt like I just needed some extra guidance. This definitely helped me. I would recommend this book to other parents. You don’t have to follow everything, of course. Just apply what you want to your life.

Gives you practical tools!
I have read a lot of parenting books and this is the most useful and practical one I've ever read! It gives you actual things to say and how to execute consequences in a way that makes sense to your child, it also makes the goal of parenting to raise responsible and independent teenagers, not to just control their behavior until you can't anymore and expect your children to make mature choices as adults when you've never let them learn what good choices actually are. Facebook fit perfectly into the parenting convictions and goals I already had, but gave me real tools to execute! I have felt so empowered and More in control since utilizing the practices in this book. The Love and Logic Parenting system makes me feel like I can actually raise teenagers who are responsible and independent, while maintaining a relationship throughout their childhood, not just control and authority. I will be gifting this book to all of my parenting friends 👏

must read for all parents
Very eye opening . I actually started reading this book last year and was discouraged because I felt I was failing as a parent . A year later passed and decided to try reading it again. This time I had a different attitude towards reading it and found Very applicable “pearls” and I’m hoping I can change my way of parenting a little bit at a time…
