I have a work bench that this seems like it was made for. I do a lot of pewpew work in my garage and wanted something to protect those finishes. This is a large gun mat, and with the detachable parts tray makes this super useful. The mat itself is thin so don't buy if your looking for a thick padded mat. It will do the job to protect your gear but I wouldn't throw or toss anything at it. My last Avid mat lasted years of abuse and it was approximately the same thickness. Avid makes a quality product with the images looking fresh and clear. Also the tray allows you to keep your high use items easily accessible and well organized. Easy to get up and running, just unroll and leave it for a few days. The end (without the tray) will take some time to flatten out. I stuck some magnets on my metal benchtop to help it along, but it still took several days. Great mat, high quality and large!

I bought these gun cleaning mats for my husband and he loves them. They are easily rolled to put in his duty bag to take them anywhere he wants. The magnet protects the springs and small parts from getting lost and the quality is great.

Appreciate the quality of the mat, however, I was surprised at just how thin the material is. This probably works if you roll it up and store it, but for those of us who have permanent cleaning stations, a desktop mousepad ($10) would accomplish the same, offering more protection. I'll probably place another pad underneath to prevent damage to my wood stocks. Tray is cool, but again, you could probably accomplish the same with an $8 parts tray. Looks sweet though!

This mat is great, it rolls up really nice and then when you need to use it just un-roll and it lies flat with no issues what-so -ever. That alone is a major win as so many other mats would get the memory of being rolled up and not lie flat when time to use. Then in addition to that you have the tray on the end that holds tools or whatever you need which is amazing as it makes things much more organized and one of the trays has a magnetic which is another added benefit as it holds things in place. The mat is the perfect thickness, cleans up really easily and it a great size overall, not too small or too big! I would highly recommend if you are looking for a good gun cleaning mat or repair mat, you will not be disappointed if you purchase one that is for sure as the cost to what you get is an amazing value.

I wholeheartedly recommend this cleaning mat, as it does as it was intended for. The mat comes in a nice, simple box and some paperwork. Build quality: This mat is durable and very sturdy. This cleaning mat is essentially a giant mouse pad, in terms of materials construction and feel, but for firearms. The mat also has pockets at the end, which can be used to place small parts, so you do not lose them. Usage: As stated earlier, its for cleaning firearms. Anything from the Benelli M4, Mossberg 590, down to a Glock 40 or Springfield Hellcat, all can fit easily on this mat, individually and completely disassembled. Maintenance: Cleaning the mat is simple but oils can be tricky. Reading some of the reviews, I think people are spreading disinformation. Like I mentioned previously, this is essentially a giant mouse pad. That being said, the materials are the same, with the top being a cloth-ish finish and the bottom being rubber. The top absorbs oils rather easily and is not the easiest to wash off, given there are no instructions on how to care for it. Water is repelled very good, but the oils are annoying. Overall, good mat and I'd recommend.

Quality mat to protect the work surface when cleaning or servicing. Generous size accommodates even larger weapons. Oil resistance so far performs as advertised. The parts trays and magnets on the side are also a very nice touch. Excellent buy.
