Soundly built
Like others, I have also had the pull-string kind and they do spin very fast but have longevity issues. There are misunderstandings about this spinner in some of the reviews. Several speak of mechanical advantage. Actually it's overdrive, meaning the rotation of the basket is faster than the rotation of the crank. But it's only about a 3:1 ratio; turn the handle one full revolution and the basket make thee. So you won't get rotation speeds of the basket as fast as some string types. Still, by cranking for a while I can get my torn lettuce nice and dry. Some have mentioned gears slipping, but no gear slippage occurs. The spinning disc in the cover engage with little teeth in the basket. When it sounds like gears slipping, it's a brief miss between the cover and the basket. That doesn't cause any damage but the sound bothers some. By holding the cover down with the left hand with the thumb at the part of the cover which is narrowest between the crank and rim, that slippage is minimized. Some have mentioned that the cover doesn't lock down, but there's no need because the mechanism doesn't involve pulling the cover away from the bowl and the crank leaves plenty of room for a hand on the lid as the crank is turned. Some have mentioned no stop button but again this mechanism doesn't need one. You just stop turning the crank. Stabilizing the salad spinner with one hand and turning the crank, it feels solid. I'm happy for give up a bit of spinner speed for good design and construction.

Not just for lettuce
The media could not be loaded. When I purchase fruit, I prefer to soak and clean them in vinegar and water. With this spinner, I'm able to do so in here rather than take up one whole side of my sink. I'm able to put my fruit inside of the colander, add the water and vinegar and let my fruit soak inside without it being in the way. When its done soaking, I'm able to spin it around to make sure anything that was possible sticking to my fruit is off. I will then remove the colander from the bowl, rinse both the bowl and the fruit inside the colander separately and then put the colander back inside to help dry the fruit faster than just letting it sit out. I have also done this with other vegetables when I am cleaning those as well. Plus, I'm able to store my clean fruits and vegetables inside of this when I'm unable to put them in the crisper. The overall use of this is really easy. Even when it comes to cleaning this, super simple. I thought for sure I was going to be storing this a lot more than using but I found that as soon as I'm done with whatever is inside, I'm either refilling it with more fresh fruit or veggies, using it to clean new produce I purchased or even both. Has really made things so much easier for me.

I have used this twice and can't believe how poorly thought out the design is
The lid doesn't flip and nest inside the spinner, so instead of being somewhat compact, you have a 9.5 or 9 inch kitchen tool sitting on your shelf. Also, no freewheel, so instead of spinning and letting it go, you spin, take your hand off the handle and the handle keeps spinning. Also, no braking device to slow the spinner down. This unit replaced our OXO Good Grips version that we have had for over 15 years, and I will not begin the return process and find the OXO Good Grips version. As for spinning and drying, this unit works great, as for features and being as compact as possible, this unit fails. PS don't confuse the fill hole with a spot to use your fingertip to slow down the spinning action.

Incorrect listing - actual size is smaller than what you get.
I had high hopes for this. I have an Oxo one with the push button and it just doesn't spin fast enough. The lettuce stays WET so I wanted one with a handle so I could get some serious RPMs up but unfortunately you don't get the large size that is advertised. I only got a 3.3L/3.5Qt (as printed on the box, see the video another reviewer posted) when the description here says 5L/4.5Qt. The one I got is way too small for large leaves of romaine. Returning it since I don't actually see a smaller 3.3L/3.5Qt size listed on Amazon so I have to assume Geedel only has this one small size which is incorrectly listed and insufficient for my needs. Too bad.

Works well
Replaced an old broken spinner that I use several times a week for decades. I place the vegetable in it, fill with soapy/ bleachy water, let sit, fill and drain a few times then spin. Works perfectly. No need to crank hard or violently due to the gearing and a large crank handle. It is constructed with relative precision of the molded plastic parts likely due to CAD and 3-D modeling. It's sturdy but it can be broken if brutalized or careless handled, it is plastic, but not the rubbery kind. I see no reason why it will not last for many years. If you're using another type spinner without a large crank handle, you will appreciate this one.

Pretty and works well
I need to be well equipped before I start anything. I needed a salad spinner to eat more greens everyday. I bought this because if bright red lid. Looked appealing to me. It works really well. Shaking the lettuce with your hand just doesn’t remove all the water properly. Then salad dressing gets diluted and just doesn’t taste the same. It takes no effort to turn the knob and the bowl is big to fit enough greens without getting crushed. I live the vibrant red lid, but it has a rubber bottom to prevent from sliding while spinning. A Plus! I enjoy using this everyday.

Working for washing and spinning
This salad spinner has low gear transmission ratio, so it has lots of torque to easily wash some salad in it. It has a beautiful transparent bowl with a non-skid ring, so I can even use it to serve the salad on the table. The lid fits good on top and there's just minor slippage between the spinner and the strainer, so salad can also be dried. The handle is elevated to protect the finger from getting hurt and the spinner knob has a good size.

Bought because it was advertised as dishwasher safe
Bought because it was advertised as dishwasher safe. Product instructions included in the box warn that it is not safe for the dishwasher. Why lie about this? Customers will either destroy their dishwasher (and the spinner itself) or return the product the moment they see these instructions. Is the seller just banking on us not reading the box or the accompanying literature? Very disappointing. Plenty of customers wouldn’t mind having to wash this by hand; customers like me do. Just be honest.

Gears slip
The media could not be loaded. This would be a nice product except that plastic gears seem poorly made and slip when used, even when only gently used. You can hear this in the video. My last salad spinner lasted more than 10 years, but I’m already thinking about replacing this one after only a dozen uses.

Disappointed
Set it up and the gear is horrible. Clicks and skips when using. Lid doesn’t secure. For the price, it’s very disappointing.
