A Great Game Controller With A few Caveats.
The Thrustmaster eSwap X Pro Controller is a great controller for the most part. The one place where it could use a little help is with the joysticks. They wear out a little sooner than some on the market do. Fortunately, there is a really great fix for this! There is a third party part which you can order which you can use to replace the joysticks without having to replace all of the joystick, whether you are using the sticks which came with your Thrustmaster eSwap X Pro Controller, or if you are using one of the colour packs. You can find the third party replacement part on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09H7PVZMY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The replacement part will also eventually wear out, just as all joysticks usually do, but it will take a lot longer for it to do so. The replacement part will make the joysticks much stiffer, so if you have unusually weak thumbs, you may need to chose a different option. The box which the Thrustmaster eSwap X PRO Controller comes in is really nice, and it's that way for a reason. When your gaming session is done, you should put your Thrustmaster eSwap X Pro Controller back in its box, and fit the stiff foam part over the two joysticks in the way that it originally came. It has a cut-out which fits over the switch controller in such a way that it can't be inserted incorrectly. The purpose of this packing piece is to ensure that the sticks are perfectly centred, and that neither spring has any extra tension on it. This will not only ensure that your joysticks last longer, but it will also ensure that your joysticks will remain tensioned properly even over long periods of time. The eSwap X PRO is both a very high quality controller, but also a rather expensive one too, so you'll want to give it the best care possible. Initially, the Thrustmaster eSwap X PRO Controller is more expensive than most controllers, but if you replace the spring box (the mechanical part only, not the whole joystick), you'll eventually recoup that extra expense by not having to buy a new controller every time the joysticks wear out. The thing to remember is that unless you want to customize your colours, you should never buy Thrustmaster replacement sticks. Always buy the Epindon Thrustmaster eSwap Pro Controller Replacement Stick Module Kit instead (see above link). Summary: If you do not use a game controller very often, then this joystick is probably not going to be for you. But if you use a controller a lot (almost daily) then this is definitely the game controller for you. If you game a lot using a controller, this controller will save you money over time if you use the Epindon Thrustmaster eSwap Pro Controller Replacement Stick Module Kit when your joysticks wear out, especially if you put it away in its original packing after each play session. BAD!!!
This controller is the WORST controller I've ever owned! Ive been on a 5 year journey to find a controller that i dont need to fully replace every 30 days. (some brands design their controllers this way with insurance plans so they can keep selling) Yeah you can change the joysticks, cool! But you cant stop the a, b, x, y buttons from getting stuck because the measurements for wear and tear were done wrong.. The buttons get stuck in place. Within the first week of owning this controller the buttons started sticking... So ive fixed it myself. Ive done endless mods to this controller for almost a year & have modded 100s of xbox / ps controllers just to continue gaming without wasting $60 a month. This thrustmaster is completely shot. Anything that isnt analog will double or triple click. The controller has parkinsons. Ive been hardcore gaming for 20+ years now but this thrustmaster Egarbage is a scam i best recommend you avoid unless you enjoy completely random buttons being pressed during games. Im glad to say that ive releared most games on mouse and keyboard so i can ditch the controller and thats why im writing this review. 1. Because the controller is trash. 2. This was the straw that broke the camels back and I do not expect to purchase a controller ever again. 3. My kids are only allowed to play on mouse and keyboard.

Great, very unique feeling controller
Controller feels a bit larger than what I am used to (Razer Wolverine Tourny edition). The thumb sticks on the Thrustmaster sit quite a bit higher than normal. Buttons feel firm, and bounce back well. The trigger stoppers do not make a huge difference. Triggers still have to go down quite a ways than other controllers i've used. LB and RB buttons feel crisp. Love the ability to customize the controller layout, or throw on some difference color combos. Cons: Controller is loud, meaning all buttons make annoying noises according to my wife. I usually have headphones on so it doesn't bother me. Controller also gets slippery when my hands begin to sweat. No rubber or friction to increase grip. Menu and Start buttons are so high up on the controller, I'm often bumping the left thumb stick to hit menu button. Causes problems in few games. Overall, i'm very glad this is my main controller now. Although it feels different than most controllers, transitioning to this was smooth. Rocket League rank remained the same. Halo Infinite's rank I am sitting two divisions higher than before, which I think is because of higher thumbsticks and aiming just feels more "pure".

This joystick is a lot of fun. However, you may have to go through some initial pain to set it up. This is not a full size steering wheel though, and you need to keep that in mind. I have a G923 and this joystick is NOT replacing it by any means. But it gives me yet another option to play my racing games. I am using it with a gaming PC and Steam with various games: Dirt 2.0, FH5, Gear-Club2, Grid Legends, NFS Payback, New Star GP, V-Rally, Horizon Chaser Turbo and even moto TT. So, if you are thinking in buying here are few comments that may help in your decision: 1) It is solid and well put together. It feels as a premium joystick for sure. There are lots of buttons and module combinations. You can even buy other ones (i.e. fighting module). 2) I you remove the D-Pad buttons, you can still use the buttons on the back as replacement. I think this is really cool as I like to use both sticks and the wheel combination together, so the d-pad module is out. 3) The trigger LT/RT buttons have texture, which is very nice. I wish LB/RB had texture too, but they don't. 4) It comes with a secure cable. My only grip is that it is not USB C, it is USB Micro-B. Common, it is not 2007 anymore. 5) The side handles are detachable, but they do not have texture either. I think they should, or at least there should be an option to buy a set that it is, but there is no option as of my writing. 6) Dislike a full steering wheel, this joystick works with any game. Even the ones I cannot get to work with the steering wheel. It is also much better than racing with the joystick stick, so it is a better option in those cases. 7) Ok, so the most important thing and why you want this joystick for... The wheel. The edge is made of rubber and easy to turn. Yes, it turns just a few degrees, but I found that that works just fine. I'd say it is just about 45 degrees to each side. It works well though and one can drive perfectly with a thumb, which is the idea. The software allows you to configure how much you will turn depending on where the wheel is located from the default position. It basically uses three zones. I set it to something like slow=25, medium=30, fast=50 and found that works just great. As everyone says, it takes some practice, but it is fun once you get used to. So, few things made me question my purchase initially... 1) The Thrustmapper software brick my device on the firmware update. It took some pain to get it back to working again. Thrustmaster support leave much to be desired. 2) I had to initially disable the controller "rumble" on Steam as it was crashing my PC with every game I ran 3) Un-installing and re-installing both, Thrustmapper and the Thrustmaster driver solve the problem. Go figure. After that I was able to re-enable rumble on Steam. Hope the above info help
