They take a little longer to cook but entirely worthwhile. Personally think these pinhead or steel cut oats are much better than normal rolled oats or the horrid instant stuff. Mostly I love the 'al dente' mouth-feel over the overcooked mushy feel of standard oatmeal. They do also possess a slight nuttiness to them as well. And supposedly these will also be a healthier oatmeal regarding fibre content and hence GI or glycemic load. Well worth trying.

Good tasty oatmeal, ideal for oatcakes.

This price and quantity is great. Have like making overnight oats with this. Would recommend 45g with Chía seeds and mix some coca power/maca together.

This oatmeal is wonderfully creamy so less milk needed. The prep time though can be about twenty minutes.So, I make a large batch then refrigerate it.Caught just cooked enough it’s possible to cut the required amount then microwave it in a couple of minutes.It MAY be possible to microwave it from scratch but that’s awkward when having to stir it frequently. I would say experiment and enjoy.

Healthy one good quality

I started buying this brand as it’s of good quality and acceptable price. And the pinhead oat is as good as the ones I used or have back in the States, and better value.

I used it to make haggis.It was good.

Often have difficulty sourcing pinhead oatmeal. This was a good sized bag for the money and has kept us going in porridge for a good few mornings this winter.
