Way better than the original version
I bought the original version of this brand's product several years ago, and I hated it. I would never use it. It was thick, ugly white plastic that would gather dust (literally) in the corner. I should've returned it, but for a while I kept trying to convince myself the reason it wouldn't work is because I never learned the proper position to sit on the toilet lol.......Yeah, that wasn't it. It was just a little too high and the angle was very uncomfortable. It was so steep that my feet would slide backwards off of it. This version is a HUGE upgrade. It's a lot sturdier and does not have that severe angle. I can also move my feet around a bit instead of being confined to the two places where you could put your f eet on the original model. It's actually a relatively attractive piece of furniture in the bathroom instead of an eyesore. And when I do need to put it away, it folds up neatly instead of being a large hunk of white plastic in the corner :).The best part about it of course is that it actually works! I won't go into detail, but the original model never worked for me. This one did on the first try. So they've definitely improved it a lot, probably in more ways than the immediately obvious ones (looks, compact, etc.).

Everyone needs one
I was so skeptical about this product. For years people would tell me they loved their squatty potty, but since I didn't have any issues going I thought it was probably just a waste of money. Then I had some GI surgery and started having issues. I bought a regular squatty potty and was shocked at how well it worked. Shocked. I did not care for how much space it took up in my small bathroom though, so I looked for a more compact model. This folding wooden version is perfect. It's extremely sturdy, yet folds up and tucks next to the toilet easily. I love this thing so much I'm considering purchasing a travel version. If you've been thinking about getting one of these, do it. I recommend it to everyone now. You will wish you had gotten one sooner.

Folding squatty potty - game changer in small bathroom
A squatty potty that folds is a game changer in our small bathroom! The traditional/original version gets in the way when stepping out of the shower so ordinary folding stools were used - but the width and height weren’t ideal. The attractive finish is a major plus!

A Travel-Friendly Squatty Potty—Life-Changing and Portable
If you’ve never used a Squatty Potty, stop what you’re doing and get one. Seriously. It’s a simple product that makes a big difference—it helps your body align properly when it’s time to take care of business. Once you’ve used one, it’s hard to go back to not having one. This particular model stands out because it’s high quality, well-built, and surprisingly sturdy despite being foldable and portable. It’s heavier than I expected, but that’s actually a good thing—it feels solid and reliable. I spent a few months traveling and realized I couldn’t go without my Squatty Potty, so I brought this one along. It folds up nicely, making it easy to pack and take with you.And if you haven’t seen the Squatty Potty’s infamous "soft-serve unicorn" ad, look it up. You’ll either be sold immediately or left slightly horrified—but either way, you’ll be entertained. If you’re new to the Squatty Potty world, this one is a fantastic choice, whether for home or on the go. Trust me, you won’t want to go back to life without it.

Perfect
Works perfectly. Looks great too. Had been using the original version, and this looks much better.

Making "the go" ergonomically aesthetic.
Squatty potties are essential however I've been using a folding step stool for years because it slides in nicely on the side of my sink to be out of the way. I felt like this was really expensive for what the functional use is, but needed to replace my stool when it was needed somewhere else. I am also trying to decrease our plastic consumption so wood was the goal. The quality of this is great and it folds up nicely. I can put on the side of the sink or under it. In their effort to make this a quality item though, I think they went a little over the top on the spring mechanism for the hinge. You need two hands and to set it down on something to be able to push the button hard enough to close it. I made the mistake of holding it against my body once to open it and pinched the crap out of my side. I could see people with arthritis having a hard time if they didn't just leave it out all the time. Also one improvement would be to add a handle. If the point of it is to fold so that you're putting it in a tight spot, it's kind of hard to reach into that space and try to grab the whole thing. A handle would make it easier to put away and pull out. Overall, the quality matches the price point, but the next iteration could use some tweaks.

It really works!
A wonderful product that really helps "move things along." The bamboo material will last for decades. The hinges are solid, well-made steel that work flawlessly. We are very pleased with the Squatty Potty.
