cats like square things
UPDATE:Turns out my initial skeptisism was completely unwarranted. By 9pm, DJ Kitty was in beast mode as the rave kicked off in the living room. As the sun came up, DJ Kitty refused to part with the deck. Review elevated to 5 stars. Yes, a bit expensive for carboard, but we are considering selling tickets to the next show to make up the difference.INITIAL REVIEW:This would totally be a 5-star review if the cat actually did anything with this. I'll break it down this way: generally, cats like square things, not round. While the visual of a cat spinning vinyl and channeling its inner DJ ("deadca7"?) is aesthetically energizing, my cat won't even lay down on this thing, let alone spin the turntable. We sprinkled a little catnip on it, glued her favorite toy to it, even taped her front paw to it....no luck. Maybe the next product in line from SUCK UK would be a mixing board with busses made out of yarn or something a feline would actually engage. Good effort though.

It's easy to put together
I knew the reviews on this were really mixed but I had to get it anyway because it was too cute. Going into the purchase with the expectation that the thing would eventually fall apart, I've gotten a lot more out of it than I thought I would. It's easy to put together, and it will come apart with enough use, but it's very easy to tape down the tabs and keep it all together. I have a 14 year old cat and two 1 year olds. The kittens are less interested in it, but this is seriously the only cat toy my 14 year old has EVER consistently used. It could be because I covered the thing in catnip when we first got it, but the scent is long gone now about a year later, and she actually does use it for scratching (although, of course, she's the only of the 3 who have been declawed, but that's just my luck). Plus, as mentioned, it's really cute, and we always get compliments on it from guests, so it's a win for me!

Freaking adorable!
I bought this as a gift for my brother when he got his new kitten. He was formerly in the marines and absolutely loves tanks, so I couldn’t have found any gift more appropriate. He did have issues with assembly (said there were no instructions included and it required a bit of origami skills). You’ll also notice in the photo that he had to duct tape the corners to keep the tank more stable. This is definitely not something your cat will use every day, but aside from the assembly and sturdiness issues, it’s so cute and was absolutely perfect for him. I’d say it’s more for photos rather than something you’ll have for years, but who knows, she is still a kitten so we shall see with time!

Cute but it’s not a skateboard
I must have missed something because I didn’t realize the wheels don’t work but my cat likes it as a scratcher.

Cats don't know what a tank is
The media could not be loaded. PROS: ?CONS: DIFFICULT TO ASSEMBLE, HOLE TOO SMALL FOR CAT TO COMFORTABLY ENTER, FALLS OVER WHEN CAT TRIES TO JUMP INI wanted to love this thing, I really did. I got suckered into buying it, after all, but I’m pretty sure this is one of those things that someone came up with and thought, “I’m sure there are people out there dumb enough to buy this, even though they could use a cardboard box for free.”It came from Amazon in a huge cardboard box that would have been more valuable than this thing. The pieces come flat and you have to assemble them. The directions offer little help, basically saying “fold here, insert tab there”. Which fold?? Which tab?? There are so many! Someone who is better at assembling than me may have an easier time—after all since I was dumb enough to buy the product, it seems to reason that I would be too dumb to put it together. It is made of thick, durable cardboard—but it is still CARDBOARD, nonetheless. Still, I ripped some of the tabs when putting it together and ended up using duct tape because I got frustrated (see photo—camo duct tape is not part of the original product). After all my hard work, MY CAT DOESN’T EVEN LIKE IT. Now, I understand that a cat’s preference does not always disqualify a product from being functional. In this case, however, it was flawed from the beginning. First of all, cats do not even know what tanks/firetrucks/airplanes are, let alone can they read the designs scrawled on the inside (like “cats rule” etc.) This is clearly designed for a human’s entertainment at the expense of the cat’s enjoyment/comfort.Once I got it put together, I had to put her in it (she would not jump in on her own because the hole is pretty small—and she is a regular 10-pound cat and not some giant mountain lion). Then she sits there for a minute…and jumps out, and she is lucky if the thing doesn’t topple over when she does since it is made of cardboard and does not have any anchor on the ground. When I showed it to my husband he laughed at me and said, "you paid money for that??" (I didn't mention I spent 32 DOLLARS!). He pointed out that the cardboard box it came in was more functional than the product. I immediately realized he was right. I have kept it around for a few weeks to see if my cat would like it, but she won't even go in it if I point the laser in it. She just meows like, "mom, that thing sucks". Now that I took a few photos to have with the review, I can't wait to throw this away.

Did not help productivity.
Is this cute? Yes. Did the cats immediately love it? Yes. Did they also find a way to demolish the “screen” so it could not stand up on its own? Yes. Did the cat pictured get so possessive over his laptop that he peed on it? You bet. It’s cute. It’s funny. Cats love it. But worth almost $40? Absolutely not. I had it exactly a month before having to toss it thanks to the aforementioned pee bandit, but even if it lasted longer, the price point is still double what it should be.

So Cute - Cats Loved It
This is so cute, with lots of little jokes in the visual design. Our cats absolutely loved it, especially the little mouse on the side.

We love it, cat loves it
Bought it for my cat because he likes to lie on my note books etc when I'm working. I thought it would be cute if he had his own laptop while I was working on mine. It didn't quite work out that way. He showed little interest in it while it was on the furniture, but when put it on the floor he's started scratching it and lying on it.

"Suck" UK. Perfect name for this cheap piece of cardboard slapped together. Save your money.
It's not a skateboard as advertised. It's a painted, flat scratch pad.
