Eau de Toilette (EDT) is a lighter version of a perfume. It’s not that it’s watered down, it’s that there’s not as much scent/oils/ingredients mixed in as there are in a perfume (EDP.) An EDT can last 2-4 hours and a EDP (perfume) can last 6-8 hours. In my experience, some EDT’s are very similar to the EDP’s, yet they’re less expensive. I usually will purchase an EDT, if a sample isn’t available, in case I don’t like the scent. That way I haven’t spent a fortune on the perfume.

According to the YSL website there is still only one Opium and it is Oriental in scent. "Black Opium" has multiple scent choices, but not "Opium."

Q: is this product authentic YSL fragrance?

I have worn Opium for years. It seemed authentic to me.
