If it wobbles, check your drill chuck and be sure the RED bushings are installed!
Works great! No major wobble **when the precision bushings are installed!** If it wobbles out of the box, remove the installed white bushings and install the red ones instead. Also, I had an old cheap corded drill I was using for it that majorly wobbled when in use. Turns out, the drill itself was the problem- the chuck wasn't perfectly centered. On my better quality cordless drill, I had zero issues. Also

It's drilling time.
I purchased the Milescraft 1318 DrillMate Portable Drilling Guide to help with more accurate drilling, and overall it does exactly what it’s designed to do. It keeps the drill straight and makes it much easier to drill precise vertical holes compared to freehand drilling. The guide is easy to set up and works well with a standard handheld drill. The adjustable depth stop is a nice feature and helps keep hole depth consistent. It’s especially useful for light woodworking projects, shelving, dowels, and other jobs where accuracy matters.

Great quality, it’s a guide not a press
This is a GUIDE NOT A DRILL PRESS! For quick jobs, this fit the porter cable and the craftsman drills. It is sturdy and very well built. The angles can be finicky to work with and not the greatest but for the most part the accuracy was down to the .005 of an inch. A super time saver for those super quick jobs. This is a must for the tool Shop or if you need quick easy fun gifts for the woodworker in your life. The parts were stable, heavy duty and will be able to withstand a lot of use. The base is stable and flat leaving it for a perfect drill each time. The springs were durable. Pretty impressed on the performance of this tool. The handles was a plastic kind, but it withheld pressure and was sturdy enough it did not break for keeping the stability as you drilled. It had to be rocked a few times to get started but once in it didn’t job. A great quality tool for a decent reasonable price

This works perfect, my only issue is that there is no on board storage for the chuck key.

Nope. Easier to square a hand drill and go by hand for me
I really tried to like this thing, it's built well and seems to be a fairly quality tool. However, after several months I have now screwed up three guitar bodies trying to make proper use of it (practiced on countless pieces of scrap getting familiar with it). It works pretty well for straightness once the hole is started, but it's almost impossible to get centered and started because the whole thing is top-heavy, wobbles, and jerks when the drill bit starts to catch. The spring is constantly resisting against the user (and it is NOT a smooth vertical track, even when lubricated) so it's a pretty aggressive process, all of which adds up to fractions of an inch of movement, which is NOT ok for perfectly-aligned string furls (which is why I got this to begin with). I have yet to succeed with this thing, as much as I've tried to like it.. it's going into the cupboard until I can find a low-precision job for it. In my experience, it is not suited for guitar building, it's just too clumsy and I don't need any assistance with being clumsy :) I have 30 years experience with woodworking, so I'm not a newb, and perhaps others have better success with this - I can do better taking my time with a hand drill for things that don't fit on my drill press.

Great for seeing depth of holes, but not perfectly straight down
Pros: *Depth of holes stays set well *Inexpensive *Can be used with pipes Cons *A little play on the center of holes *Base isn't level across the whole bottom, so you may have to add a flat base if drilling near edge of piece *Not easy to set perfect depth *No storage of Chuck key This was perfect for drilling holes to a certain depth with my forestner bit. It is a little hard to get the right depth set. I had to drill holes on another piece of wood and check them until I got it. Once the right depth was set, it never moved. The top slide, however, had a bit of play, so the holes didn't always start straight down. They could be over 1/8" or so from perfectly straight on the jig. This is because the drill's handle isn't inline with the press, so if you're putting pressure on the handle you're pushing the drill bit to the side. This could be a problem for you. I'm my case this kinda helped, as it let me ever do slightly rock my forestner bit to more quickly make the holes. (My bit probably needed to be sharpened.). You can overcome this play by pressing on the back of your drill instead of the handle when drilling. (This works well on a big piece that won't move, or a small piece you have clamped, but if you need to hold the piece and the drill, then it is hard to keep pressure straight down.) The base has groves to allow drilling pipes, which is handy, but if you're piece is flat, and you're drilling by the edge of your piece, this can cause the jig to not be level. Luckily, the base has screw holes. I attached a scrap piece of wood shown in picture to the bottom of the jig to make sure I had a level surface. I wouldn't pay more for it, but it would be nice if you could easily make micro adjustments to the depth of holes. Also, it could come with a flat base option. Again, I wouldn't have paid more for it, so I'd say it is perfect for the price.

What a clever jig! Not for high precision work though
I purchased this setup as I did not want to go out and buy a drill press to drill 3/16" holes into the ends of 1/2 X 1/2 inch acrylic rods . I tried clamping them to a workmate but kept getting the holes drilled at funny angles. I purchased this jig with a multi angled vise and got nearly perfect holes. YMMV but this jig is clever and effective for DIY projects. The price is extremely decent for what you get. If you have stuff that needs to be held within +/-.005.. No this will not hold up. but if you can deal with +/- 1/32" This will work just fine. It is not made of Chinesium but rather die cast aluminum and mild steal rods. The most impressive part is the decent quality bearings for the Jacobs Chuck assembly. No discernable wabble and holds drill bits perfectly. Glad I made this purchase.

Easy to use, fairly easy to assemble. Sometimes the chuck looses the drillbit, but with some extra thightning and fiddeling it's good. I think it drills straight, maybe not as straight as a standalone drillpress, but good enough for me. Hobby use.
