I have the Primo oval XL and have been using this product for the past few years. Affordable cost and I get about a year's life out of it, but I cook a lot on the grill all year. Very pleased with this product.

Easy to install and works great.

I haven't cooked with it yet, so I'll update this if I need to later. Install was pretty simple, as long as you can think on your feet instead of just ripping the material away from the adhesive and wondering what happened (looking at you, guys that left 1 star reviews...).There are some good tips in here for getting the adhesive away from the backing, but what I did was slightly different. I measured my space to determine the length needed. Then, with the black side up (backing on the table) I cut down through the black material and just lightly scored the paper backing (don't cut all the way through it). Now you can fold the paper backing where you scored it and peel the material and adhesive off like you would when opening a band-aid.With some messaging it seemed to make a good stick with the edges of my freshly de-greased smoker lid. The thickness of the material may have caused a bit of a gap at the bottom of the door though, and I won't know until my next cooking session. If that's the case, I'll just add another strip to the body of the smoker to double up the material along the bottom edge. This is of course no fault of the FireBlack and entirely caused by the tolerances of my smoker's lid.

Ok, based on info from the Smokingmeatsforums, I purchased this product to seal up my Smoke Hollow propane smoker. Wow, this was the answer to my problem of inconsistent heat. Did ribs over the weekend and the temp was a rock solid 266 at the low setting. I couldn’t believe how stable it was. Once it settled down temp varied +/- 2 degrees. This unit sits on the side of my house where it can get a little breezy, but this had no impact what so ever on the temp. Previously it did. To apply, I followed the suggestions on the forum. First, I did cut the tape in half to approximately. ½” wide, so it would not overhang the flange. I wanted a neat look since I attached it to the body, not the door. I used grease remover to get the metal clean, then alternated cleaning and a light fine sanding 3 times. Final wipe down showed no grease remained. I placed the material very carefully, so as not to stretch it (per the instructions). You’ll get the hang of it pretty quickly. Once placed on all four sides, I closed the door and let it sit for 3 days. When I checked the adhesion it was perfect. Highly recommend.

I've used everything from "pro" putties to cast-iron fireplace braid on my smoker rigs in the past, all with varying levels of "meh." Skip all that, and just buy this stuff. I used a vibratory sander with a 100-grit pad to take off the old rotted seal and adhesive, wiped the edge with tack-cloth, and striped this stuff in place. Note: be *ready* to put this stuff down inch by inch, and *carefully*. The adhesive on this product means BUSINESS! This made a GREAT seal on my offset smoker's main chamber. I don't think I've ever been this impressed with a smoker gasket before, even for stuff I paid three times as much for that gave me a so-so seal. Pretty sure I'm never buying anything else for the job but FireBlack again, period.

Needed to replace the fireplace glass gasket. Was a little concerned that this product would work but to my surprise it was excellent.

This is great and very easy to install. I have a Old Country Brazos Smoker/ grill (I absolutely love it) , I use the gasket around the doors on the fire box, and the cook chamber, to make a very tight seal around the doors. With this product it is 1" wide, and 1/8"thick . This was a perfect fit , and now there's no smoke/ heat loss. This gasket makes my smoker draw in more oxygen, which makes it cleaner smoke, and allows the smoke to exit the chimney, with out any heat loss. Before installing the gasket, use acetone to remove any contamination around the doors, then install it. Let it set up for about a day or two to get the best results. It's a great product , just don't install it directly on the fire box itself .Amazon shipping was fast and everything arrived on time. .

Does what it does, easy enough and does it well. I don't think it even took five minutes to install. Holding up great so far.will definitely be buying more for other projects. If it will keep the smoke in , I'm thinking should work great for keeping the odors out on a budget diy hunting clothes box.oh, customer service is especially polite and helpful at fire black too, give it a try, you won't be disappointed
