Nope.
Nice workmanship, but inferior sonics vs. anything else in this price range. Akai's or AT's are far better.

Earond Legacy
Let me preface this review by saying I’m not an expert or audiophile. Before buying these headphones I was still using Apple Earbuds. Why? Because they were free and I didn’t want to spend the money on an expensive alternative. It soon became obvious that I listen to way too much music to not invest in a good pair of headphones. After scouring the pages of Amazon I found these, and I’m so glad I did.First off, the biggest thing that strikes you is the look. These are aesthetically the best looking headphones I’ve ever seen (I bought the Rosewood style). The wood finish is incredible, and the overall craftsmanship is terrific. But who cares if the sound isn’t great? I was cautiously optimistic when I first put these on, hoping it would live up to my expectations. Thankfully, the sound is really good. It’s always great when you hear something you’ve never heard in a song even when you’ve listened to it hundreds of times. That type of discovery is becoming more and more common. The sound especially stands out when listening to music with a lot of layers to it, music that features a lot of sounds crafted together happening all at once (e.g. Radiohead post The Bends). Additionally, the headphones are comfortable to wear and I’ve been able to listen for hours straight without any discomfort.Nothing’s perfect so I’ll move on to some of the cons. The cable is ridiculously long, and you could probably walk your dog with this thing. However it is anti-tangle (it’d probably be more accurate to call it tangle resistant because I still somehow managed to get them tangled) which is great for those who’ve ever spent 10 excruciating minutes trying to unknot earbuds. Not that it really matters to me, but they aren’t noise cancelling. If that guy sitting next to you on the plane is snoring, you’ll just have to turn the volume up or start throwing some elbows. Finally, the sound does leak through a little when you’re listening so other people may be able to hear your music depending on the level of ambient noise in the room and the volume you’re listening at.

Definitely worthy of the "LEGACY" name, here is why...
Definitely worthy of the "LEGACY" name, here is why:Let us start off with the construction of the headphones, which is superb with no imperfections by the way. They have a very comfortable heavy cushioned faux leather head band, which even after four hours of continuous listening, does not fatigue the top of my head.Move on to the most important in comfort are the "over the ear" nearly 1" deep breathable faux leather cup pads. They never get hot and keep the top of the ear off the ear can speaker face, which prevents sore ears during extensive listening. Now for durability, these are going to last a lifetime with proper care as they are built from metal and wood, no plastic here folks, except the four small plastic covers inside the headband which does not take away from the durability. I have to say, they really have the feel of headphones nearly five times their price range in ruggedness and weight. Now about the cans themselves, many worry if these are real wood and often mistake them as plastic. They are definitely 100% wood and here is how to check without tearing them apart. First place the cup under a bright shimmering light and look for imperfections in the clear coat. Real wood will always have a pit here and there even under a thick glaze coat. Second, look at the wood grain itself, it should have some iridescence which react with each grain individually creating various light patterns in the grain as it moves against the light. Third, the left and right cans should have grain variations making the left and right can completely different in appearance. Last, take a magnifying glass and look for DPI, yes, just like a printer, even faux wood floors have DPI visible under a magnifier. No DPI? Then it is genuine! Now how about that sound? Let's go into some detail about that. I have been friends with musicians, sound engineers, and am a bit of a speaker enthusiast myself. Okay enough of that, lets get to the sound already....I tested these against various artists to really get a good grasp on their reproduction. I listened to: Ro James, Puscifer, Agnes Obel, Alt-J, Glass Animals, Coldplay, Keb' Mo', and Deftones (post self titled album). The soundstage is extremely natural and tight, which means you hear instruments as they should sound acoustically without coloration. to explain this further let's separate the sound spectrum into different categories.Highest end of the spectrum you hear very pronounced, yet natural hits of the stick to the bell of a symbol. You also hear things clearly like the hiss of a shaker, piano strikes against a chord, the piano keys striking the base, a pick plucking at strings on an acoustic, and subtle background noises caught during recording such as the beads of a snare vibrating from an instrument being played through an amp, or movements by the band members. It is quite beautiful actually and really brings songs to life! It is hard to explain, it's like they are playing in person when you close your eyes. I honestly think that the top of the spectrum of these headphones is higher than 20KHz because they don't seem to even begin to drop off until around 18KHz.High spectrum focuses on symbol crashes, symbol rides, upper end of ribbon mics, condenser mics, tanner horn instruments, tanner string instruments, and upper end of guitar amps. I am missing a few but you get the point... Symbols are brought a bit forward, like at a very well engineered concert, where you hear the long resonance after a swish from a hard hit However, they are not so far forward you feel overwhelmed and fatigued, they are definitely in the "sweet spot". Guitar amps are very airy, demanding, and crystal clear, even during "Meet The Butcher" by Deftones, the guitar notation is very separated, you could hear everything in total clarity, even the synth in the background was very pronounced. Pianos are perhaps the most perfectly reproduced, I could easily tell between a keyboard and a grand piano. The sonic resonance is very apparent with acoustic pianos on these headphones. You can tell it is a keyboard because the piano resonance stops abruptly with each key strike even on sustain. As for the microphones, oh wow, they really come to life and you hear their different diaphragm signatures, even a tinge of raspiness on the vintage models! Horned instruments are extremely breathy, you can easily tell between a keyboard and the real thing, like on Alt-J's "Hunger for the Pine", which horns are recreated by synth horns and a live Sax. I should also mention subtle percussion instruments are very pronounced as well.Snare drums are very alive and natural as well, even with hard rock, which is great because usually they are hard to hear on headphones. I don't know what else to say except, it is like you are there with your eyes closed while they play for you.The Mid range section which will either make a set of headphones either sing or sound like total garbage is where these headphones conquer. The vocalist is front and center demanding your attention, while leaving plenty of room for all instruments to play quite beautifully together with great presence! You can even tell if the track was recorded via music stage or in studio with separated rooms. Quite remarkable! The detail is just flat out precision in these headphones. Whoever designed the speaker driver really knows their stuff and has extensive sound engineering experience!Okay so I am sure you want know that the airiness, which makes for either a wide or narrow presence in instrument separation, is quite balanced, guess you can say it is like going to a more intimate concert at a medium sized venue with an awesome sound engineer, like a performing arts theater. Now for mid bass, holy moly, these do great here as well! The toms of the drums are definitely pushed forward, which is a major plus because they are the most left out in reproduction through speakers and headphones, except for high end models and brands, but you pay a pretty penny for that. Bass kicks are very strong, tight, and fast, while not overpowering other instruments. Bass instruments are beautifully reproduced and are also tight and fast. Listen to some strings like Cello and prepare for some emotion! I almost forgot that the low E and A strings on guitars are clear and pronounced as well. Now for the entire LOW end frequency that many are skeptical of. The lows are very pronounced, however, don't expect to get that 1000 watt Bass Car feel with these, go with Beats if you want that nonsense. With that said, Ro James' "The Ride" and "Bad Timing", also Glass Animals' "Black Mambo" hit beautifully and with presence, not at all weak, but also not dominating the tracks either. Also this is where the semi-open design really comes into play and it is night and day when you block the vents. Everything, and I mean everything flattens out and is almost tinny. Conclusion: These headphones are remarkable and blow a lot of headphones out of the water in the $100 - $200 price range. I have a pair of Harmon Kardon AKG studio headphones that these Legacy headphones put to shame! These have higher sensitivity, better response. and no noticeable acoustic distortion. Heck, these in my opinion, can be put up against headphones in the $500+ price range. You may want to take note that not everyone is going to enjoy these as they are a very IN YOUR FACE listening experience, much like what Klipsch speakers are known for, so if you are a fan of their speakers, then you will love these Legacy headphones like I do! An absolute must buy for music lovers!
