Great if You’re Willing to Put In the Extra Effort!
After installing 135 of these foam tiles on our kitchen ceiling, I’m happy with the result but not sure they are for everyone.I read the reviews before buying them and even still I was surprised at how thin and lightweight the tiles are. They look and feel like a fast food container box but are decorative. I simply could not get myself to permanently adhere them with caulk to my ceiling. The ceiling would be destroyed if we ever wanted to remove them. I decided to try painting one and knew immediately that I made the right decision. I’ve attached photos of them painted and one of them during the painting process. I used a small 3/8” roller and good quality interior semi-gloss paint. It was a Behr color called Decorator White. One thin coat covered well but two coats looked amazing! The paint gave them more structure and a great finish. Yes I hand rolled 135 tiles... twice. Totally worth the effort!Even after I painted them, I didn’t want to caulk them to ceiling and didn’t see a reason to. I bought several rolls of double sided tape ($10/30ft) and used short pieces of tape on each time. The light duty tape had a 10 pound rating so these tiles are not going to come off by accident! I attached a photo of where I placed the tape.I removed our chandelier and started there since it was a focal point and then I worked out from there. I couldn’t give this product 5-stars because they are not the exact same dimension on both sides. In other words, not a true square. There is a minimal difference (less than 1/16th of an inch) but I found it necessary to rotate the tiles 90 degrees to ensure the tiles lined up well across the ceiling. Most of the tiles had the remnants of the perforated edge from the manufacturing process on 2 sides and I used a foam sanding block to smooth the edge. It was a quick but very important step. I had to caulk the seams to give it a finished look and to fill in any small gaps. The tiles are made well but there are slight variations in the sizes of the tiles. In the end the ceiling looks amazing. My goal was to avoid repairing nail pops and bad drywall seams. I also wanted to give the ceiling some character without getting too expensive and feel I accomplished both. You would never know the ceiling is actually foam, thanks to the paint and caulked seams, and every time I look up I’m glad I installed them.In summary, buy them if you’re willing to put in the effort of painting, sanding and caulking. Don’t buy them if you expect to just stick them up as-is. We bought multiple designs to see them in person before buying 17 boxes of them. Some were highly decorative with deeper character and others were more simplistic. We chose one that we thought would add character but not be a distraction on the ceiling.

Best low-end solution for a ceiling you’ll find
Not sure why there are bad reviews for these at all. They are super thin, super light, styrofoam squares that are an easy low-end way to finish a ceiling. Used these in our basement kitchen which is uneven and not at all level (putting it mildly). Oh, and there was also a giant patch from previous plumbing work that needed to be taped, muddled, and sanded. Didn’t want to do any of that so we slapped these right over the patched area and the rest of the ceiling in a few hours. Easy to trim and apply (we used light duty (10lb) mounting tape). We didn’t paint them, but they’d probably look even better painted.

Great Option
These tiles work great. I was a bit nervous when I first opened them, as other reviews described, they are about the thickness of takeout containers. For installation a painted the surface and allowed to dry a couple days. After that I followed the instructions and used Loctite instant grab glue. After glueing into place, I again waited until next day to let glue cure. I then caulked between them and around edges of wall. Allowed caulk to cure then painted with a quality water based ceiling paint. The ceiling looks great. It has been in place for about 2 months now. I am completely satisfied and highly recommend the product.Just a PSA - check the exterior box for any damage prior to accepting the delivery, these are light and until installed could damage easily

Great with some added touches
The description said PVC, so I was expecting hard panels - these are foam - took more glue than I expected but were easy to install - I also installed seam strips and crown molding - of course thy were all different shades of white - so I had to paint it all so they looked like a unit - looks great now. Still they are expensive

Look like plaster, easy to use.
Very nice. We rolled ours with flat latex ceiling paint before putting up. The tiles are very light and easy to scribe and cut to walls and light cutouts. They look like plaster once painted and adhered to the ceiling. Just be very gentle handling, they dent easily.I tested them for combustion. And I found with a heavy rolled coat of latex paint, glued to sheetrock they will burn when a torch is held to them but go out as soon as flame is removed. This is very good to know. They stop burning even when not mounted on sheetrock once flame is removed. I find this acceptable as a lot of fire rated materials behave the same way.

Beautiful
These tiles are the way to go if you don't want to invest a lot of money or time to cover a damaged ceiling. They are sturdy for being foam tiles, and can be put up with adhesive instead of a drop ceiling. Very easy to do yourself too.

Easy to put up!
We had to take out part of this ceiling while remodeling. Put up drywall then glued these right on top! Painted blue now just need to finish the trim! We've used these many times and love they way they look and how easy they are to work with! The only tip is don't push to hard on the raised areas or they flatten down, be gentle!

Looks good, a bit too pricey
They are exactly what they claim to be. If white is the color you want, I’d suggest painting them white so they don’t look like styrofoam. They are light and easy to install. I used liquid nails with a caulk gun. Easy peasy 😀 I think for the price, you should get 20 or so, so I don’t like the price. It’s not made of expensive materials. Just embossed styrofoam. They look nice painted white. They really fancy up a room.
