Here is how you fix the camera strap (photo)
This is a great case - solid construction, appears to be leather to me. I'm referencing some issues others have experienced. For the PowerShot G9 it tilts down just a bit but I haven't seen it try to turn upside-down. And, the tripod socket fits my tripod head without issue - if it's too shallow try a rubber washer from the hardware store. The color and texture with brass accents make it a perfect match for the tan and chrome PowerShot camera. The camera strap was pretty useless... until I see that they are shipping the strap incorrectly strung. If your strap goes through the buckle in only one direction then you need to re-string it so it double-backs onto it self. The strap should go through the buckle from the back, return to the back, thru the loop on the case, then (here's the tricky bit) come back thru the buckle from the back side once again. Since the strap is fed the same way in opposite directions it provides a connection which is quite strong.I have attached a photo. I've put about 5-10 pounds of pull on the strap and it does not give at all. If you keep it the way it's strung when it arrives it will pull right out. Hope that helps someone.

Husband loves it, I hate it.
I suppose I didn't look too closely at the picture, before I bought it. The case is 2 parts. The bottom part has to be screwed into the camera's tripod hole, which is annoying to say the least, when trying to remove the case (to change memory card, battery). The part that actually covers the camera, snaps on in two places. I found the case to be cumbersome and would rather have a traditional case that the camera can simply slide in and out of when opened. However, my husband thinks this case is great, and prefers it over the traditional case (though he can't seem to specify why). We do both like the style of the case and the leather color. It goes well with the camera itself, which has brown accents on it (Canon G9X)

I knew in advance the strap would be something I didn't like..
...reading the other reviews, I knew in advance the strap would be something I didn't like... However the case its self if just fine. I works like you'd expect. It attaches with the threaded tri-pod connection under the camera; which hold firmly. So I give it 4 stars because of the strap. My recommendation is add the TARION Camera strap. TARION Camera Shoulder Neck Strap Vintage Belt for All DSLR Camera Nikon Canon Sony Pentax Classic White and Brown Weave I used this combo on my trip to Maui... Yes! I embraced the full vintage tourist look. I did get a number of positive comments. Note, the cover really does need to come completely off to really shoot well, because you need to see the full back. What might have been a nice feature to add, would be a leash for the wrap over leather so when you unfasten for a shot, you're not looking for place to stuff the cover. In my board shorts I had to fight the Velcro pockets to stuff and retrieve the cover. You can try and let it dangle from a a snap, but I found that to be more awkward than just taking it off completely. so, for what it's worth... Great Case... Strap kinda sucks; but get a nice vintage strap and embrace the full 1950s tourist look!

Nice value. Good protection. Meh styling.
Not bad. Fits well and looks okay from a distance, but it's obviously vinyl (and priced like it, which is good). I'd prefer a leather case but the OEM one is too expensive even if you find one. This does a good job of protecting the camera. Nice lining and the stitching is well done. No loose seams. I don't use the included strap as it's really cheap. But it's easy to attach and remove, so it's nice to have that option. The screw on the bottom that attaches the case Is well made and easy to grip. It has a center thread for a tripod, which is handy. The brass coloring matches the brown vinyl. The knob adds a little bulk, but it is about as small as can be if you want to grip it with your fingers. All in all, worth the money, though I wish there was a nicer alternative for a little more money.

While this case looks great and appears to be well made
While this case looks great and appears to be well made, I had two issues with it. First, as I think others have mentioned, the straps. The first time I took the camera out, with it around my neck, it suddenly pulled loose and feel to the ground (luckily, the case did protect it!). I probably did not have it attached correctly - there were no instructions. But I tried feeding the strap several different ways, and it always seemed loose. My second issue was with the cover falling off when I unsnapped the front to take a photo.I thought - based on descriptions and other reviews - that I would be able to just let the cover dangle while I took a quick shot. But it came loose every time. So I found myself then holding the cover while I'm trying to compose my shot.If you can leave with these limitations (I can't), this would be a great case.

Serves its protective purpose well.
I bought this to protect my camera while it is packed way in transit. I felt more secure than just stuffing it in my backpack or pocket. However, I don't wear it around my neck with the strap while out actively shooting. It adds bulk (although slight) and dangling straps to what is supposed to be a very compact camera. All-in-all, for the modest price a worthwhile investment.

I wanted to love this as it's stylish - it's just not practical
The snaps don't work well - when I go to shoot they fall off - and I usually take them off when I really want pictures. Also to replace the battery and/or memory card, you have to unscrew the bottom. We're heading to Alaska soon and I don't want to struggle with the case. I'm going to use the case it arrived with as I'm also taking my Canon Rebel. The Rebel I'm taking has a telephoto lens that I don't want to take it everywhere as it's awesome but large. I want to use this camera for fun, quick shots but this case is too cumbersome for me..

It works
I bought this case to protect my camera on a summer trip. I thought the color was ok, would have preferred a matte black, but the black they offered looked a bit shiny. I don't like that the snap case gets in the way if you try to leave it attached. I always take it off when using the camera, but I am worried that it will get misplaced that way. Also, it slows down the process of taking pictures. A minor annoyance and I chose protection over that annoyance. I did feel secure slipping my camera into my purse with it in this case.
