100% Organic Hard White Wheat Berries - 25 lbs

This makes great bread!!

Nice clean wheat

I bought this for grinding my own flour in a Komo mill and I’m very happy with it. The grain is clean and beautiful and I feel confident there is no debris to damage my stone mill. The flour is sweet and fragrant. It works great in bread baking and seems to have plenty of nice strong gluten. The loaf pictured is 100% fresh ground with 85% water and is sourdough leavened. The breads have great flavor and a beautiful pale honey color. The white bran lacks the brown color and also the slight bitterness of red wheat. The white flour lovers in my family gobble up whole wheat bread made with this flour seemingly unaware that it is whole wheat. The bag is big and pantry moths and moisture are a reality where I live, so I poured the berries into seven 2-quart ball canning jars for storage. This has been very convenient as the jars are small enough to handle easily and stash where there’s space in the pantry.

I have decided to mill my own wheat for breads, so I ordered these wheat berries. I am so happy that I chose this product! It arrived quickly, is fresh, and remarkably clean-absolutely NO unwanted debris! No chaff! Just perfect, clean grain, It works perfectly in my home mill and makes great bread products. What's not to like? If you are a freshly milled baker, buy it!

I make my own flour for sourdough bread and this is a great source for fresh organic grain. I love this white wheat.

1. package arrived bursted 2. its the dirtiest wheat i have ever seen, dirt, wood chips, leaves, feathers, stones....absolutely unacceptable !!!! 3. its really zero stars, but i had to put one for the review to be accepted

I definitely prefer hard white grain over hard red (but hard white is difficult to find now). I’ve made multiple loaves of bread with this grain and each one is delicious! I’ve made sandwich bread, country boules, and sourdough. Organic grain.

I was so happy to be able to order organic wheat berries from Central Milling through Amazon. Their flour and grain products are exceptional. I’m also lucky to find their organic unbleached all-purpose flour in Costco, but prefer to mill whole grains myself at home. Thanks, Central Milling!
