Great fiber for watercolor
I usually use either Fabriano or Canson, so this is my first time use of Bockingford paper. Definitely a difference in how well the paper holds up to multiple layers and it takes well to lifting color without damaging the surface. The only thing that is more inconvenient is that there is an extra cover page attached to one gummed side. So when working on the block, you have two attached covers. I ended up tearing off the logo sheet and using it as a protection sheet and then fold over the cover sheet. Else, really enjoy working on this paper.

Great watercolor paper…great price
This is the first time I bought St. Cuthberts paper and I love it. The paper block paper has a nice finish and the paint goes on beautifully. This is 100% cotton paper and the cost is lower than Arches (which I use). I will be buying this paper again. Highly recommend to anyone interested in high quality watercolor paper.

Medium range watercolor paper
Not a top notch watercolor paper but it is great if you do wet on dry watercolors

Great quality
The media could not be loaded. Very nice paper to work with. Gives you enough time to make proper blendings. Good with paint lifting and very forgiving paper in general

Surprised at Performance
The blending of color on a portrait was really good, I was pretty happy with that. Didn't really need to let it dry all the way between layers and seemed resistant to making cauliflowers which I loved! What I found odd was the lack of color in the red ...it's like it lost the red in the main wash? Very strange - pulled it right im. I would say this a good value.

Expensive for a not 100% cotton rag paper but worth it.
Be sure to look at all the offerings on Amazon as prices vary widely. Prices also change from the same vendor frequently so buyer beware. This warm white paper features great sizing stability. While it is described as wood free - it is also described as not 100% cotton. Personally I love the “NOT Cold Press” surface that gets it character from the felt blankets of the cylinder mound. Personally, I’d rank this paper’s performance right up there with Fabriano Artistico. It sure gets a thumbs up from me!

It's the best quality paper I can find.
I use this paper all of the time. It is a good quality paper for te money. I am buying 10 blocks at a time so I never run out. I've added a picture that I painted so viewers can see that it doesn't buckle as it's straight from the block.

The preferred paper of English watercolorists. Do I really need to say more?
I've been watching Andrew Pitt's video on YouTube. He is an outstanding watercolor artist in the English tradition of Wesson. When I tried the paper that he is using, namely Bockingford NOT (or "good old Bockingford" as he says), After working with Arches and Fabriano, I had an AH! AH! moment: That's how he does it!!! Fantastic. No gimmicks, just pure, fresh, simple, luminous, Excellent for landscapes but also excellent for still life. Haven't tried human figure yet, but I suspect it will be just as good. Was a little apprehensive since it is not cotton paper, but I must admit that when it comes to the art (not American gimmicks) of watercolor, the English invented it and they know best. Wish it was easier to buy in full Imperial sheets in Canada, but the blocks are of excellent quality!

If you're a serious watercolorist in the English tradition, don't mess around with anything else.
This is truly the best paper for watercolo(u)r in the English tradition of Wesson who, after Turner, elevated watercolor to a bonafide art form. Thanks to St.Cuthbert's Mills and' in no small way, to Andrew Pitt, the tradition is alive and well. No gimmicks, just pure, luminous and simple watercolor! It's not about the brushes. It's not about the water or even about the paint. it is only about the paper. Don't throw your money at a watercolor problem. Just try this relativelay cheap paper. The blocks are fine but I only wish that the paper would be available in imperial size sheets in Canada.
