These bulbs give off an awesome look.Regarding some of the other reviews, if you can't tell from the picture and wattage that this bulb's function is primarily decorative then you shouldn't be buying bulbs online. The give off a low-level light and an amber glow. I use them for my game room where they look cool and give off plenty enough light for the room. It should be obvious that they're not for bedside reading.A note on the amber coating. The bulbs aren't consistent with how much or how little amber tint is added. Personally, I don't find this a problem but you can tell looking at them that they aren't all equal. You can see in my added picture that two have more coating.I would recommend ordering at least a couple more than you need. I ordered four and two arrived broken so I returned the two broken ones and ordered 4 more; leaving me with two extra on hand. This isn't the fault of packaging or the product itself. That's just the nature of having something extremely fragile (like a lightbulb) shipped to you in the mail.Overall, these give an awesome look and are sure to catch attention.

Absolutely love the warm, yellowish/ orange light this bulb produces, it's inefficient as heck but it surely gives us a taste of the "vintage" days where late- night work is done by the light of glowing hot tungsten filaments! I recommend this bulb if you're a little fed- up with the artificial, white bleached-ness light produced by LED bulbs. Probably not a bulb that's good for leaving on all night or something like that, as it really is quite costly in terms of energy usage, but looks great indoors while lighting up a dark room. Not as bright (with respect to lumens) as LEDs but the aesthetic quality this bulb offers makes it all worth it. Recommend getting a little lamp base/ socket for this (so you don't have to hide the beautiful squirrel cage filaments with a lamp shade/ cover!)! This bulb appears to be hand made (I think? Not 100% sure though!) and the craftsmanship is quite lovely as well-- I love how intricate the interior workings of the bulb are, even when it's off!

Very pleased with these lightbulbs, no lampshade required and the style of this bulb is captivating, from it's brightest lighting to it's dimmable lowest setting it creates the perfect glow for any room. Well worth the price, I will buy more and have already suggested it to people who admired it.

I used this bulb for an industrial style iron pipe lamp and it fits in perfectly with the style I wanted! It emits a comfortable medium low light, with a warm comfortable tone. It is bright enough for a table lamp, but may not be the best for reading with as a sole light source. It can absolutely add style to a room though!After having this bulb for a few months, it is still going strong and I expect it to last a while longer.My only complaint was how gosh darn long it took to get here, you would think I actually ordered it in Edison's day! After seeing comparable bulbs with free, quicker shipping, I would not recommend this bulb.HOWEVER, if you simply are curious and are in no hurry to get something like this and want good quality, from my experience, this is hard to beat as a single bulb purchase.

I love this light! its diferent and very bright! its great for sewing because it really allows you to get a good look at what you are doing! Great Value!

Since I moved furniture around, I ended up with a dark corner and I chose one of those cage type lamps for the area. The only lightbulb I considered was the Vintage Edison bulb to compliment the lamp. I wanted to purchase 6 at one time, but they were out of stock, so I settled for one. Beautiful, soft light with those amazing gold colored stripes of light. This is a lightbulb that is meant to be shown! I will get more since they are warm and beautiful.

I paired this Edison bulb with a Perfectshow Retro light and I have to say I was very pleased with how this looks aesthetically together. Of course being only 40W, this won't illuminate much space, but you are buying this type of bulb for the aesthetics rather than efficiency. It emits a warm orange light that really accents wood tables or desks, so that was an added bonus I had not anticipated when purchasing this. If you are looking at Edison bulbs, than you obviously have something in mind in regards to how you want to use it. Buy it and you'll have quite a throwback experience!

As others have said, the packaging could definitely be improved. Wish it came in a box with a description of the bulb. It is not 120 V as described on the Amazon page, but rather 130V (very finely printed on the base of the bulb). 130V is safe (I had to research it) but the light output it lower (dimmer) than 120V but it will apparently last longer. It works for me.
