Chalklines be Damned
Feather light and sooooo easy to put up. Right over some atrocious popcorn ceiling from the sixties. I used the suggested Loctite Power Grab in white, in Heavy Duty option. The video and instructions squeeze the stuff on in a 4x4 grid "dime size" in dollops. Worked great for me!One 9 oz tube put up eight tiles(21.66 ft), and it could probably be stretched a little further. My local Lowe's gives a bulk discount for Loctite in purchases of 12+ so suggest checking there, it was about fifty cents cheaper per tube than on Amazon. There is another awesome reviewer who posted a photo of her work that inspired me-- she laid the tile at a diagonal and I found the look to be utterly superior to the squared positioning. I believe the same is true of tile flooring as well: it creates more interesting visual movement and has a widening effect on the room. Plus...the challenge of it :) I couldn't resist.I'll still have to paint the tiles and glue up some trim. Next time, will try painting it all beforehand and just caulk any awkward seams. The tiles cut easier-than-butter using a razor. Upon delivery, there were about 6 (of 96) slightly smooshed at the corner, but not sweating it! Whether this is laid at 90 or 45 degrees, it's inevitable that some ends will have to be trimmed to the size of the room and discarded.I wouldn't trust my own talent to put this in a steamy bathroom. To ensure zero mold growth the tiles would have to be painted with multiple coats to perfection, then every. single. joint sealed with silicone, then every contact point with the wall also sealed. Nope nope, just nope. I know my limits.Lastly on the subject of finding the center of the room and drawing chalklines...I didn't bother. However, I did pre-measure L x W, and adjusted the size of the starting piece to ensure the final tile on the opposite walls wouldn't be too short (for both structure and visuals).Already purchased another style from this company for the living area and kitchen. Super excited :)

These are styrofoam. Looks like Styrofoam
I saw in the box. Pretty white, with nice design; but totally looks like a styrofoam cup.I was expecting plastic; thin flexible plastic. Maybe with a shine. I have never used this product. I just didn't think 179 was worth the cost of buy styrofoam.I could take the popcorn down myself and paint for that price. Just wasn't the product for me.

order extra in case there is damage to the corners.
For the most part the tiles were beautiful. HOWEVER, there were a NUMBER of tiles where the corners were pushed in.

So much better than expected!!
I bought these to fix a crappy plaster job in our dining nook from the previous owners. This isn’t our “forever home” so we didn’t want to spend a ton of money. I was skeptical about the styrofoam and my husband was even more skeptical. I can definitely say that we are both so surprised and extremely happy with the results. They were so easy to install. I did the whole ceiling myself while my husband was at work. All you need is a utility knife (or sharp scissors), a step stool, a tape measure, and the Loctite that Amazon recommends. I bought the Loctite power grab express and the built-in trigger so you don’t even need a caulking gun. My dining nook is 108 sq ft and I used 4 tubes of the 7.5oz Loctite. I think the pictures speak for themselves! I also included a Before pic of my ceiling. You won’t be disappointed!

Use liquid nails
I wanted easy and different. I painted the tiles before I put them up. The suggested adhesive works on the flat ceiling part, but not the stucco part. They fell down. I used liquid nails and held them for a bit. If you put them to close together they will buckle. Overall I do like them, but take your time and space evenly. Good luck.

Great look/order more than needed to allow for damage
Love the look of these ceiling tiles. They were an easy fix for a problem ceiling. The installation was relatively easy as well. My only caution is to be sure and order a little more than you need as we had about 10% of the tiles arrive damaged. They come in packages of 8, so out of the 8 packages we ordered, 8 of them had damage. Also, some were curled slightly which required more adhesive to stick to the ceiling.

Same price as tile, but an ok short term fix
These are Styrofoam just as others mentioned. The pros: quick solution if you plan to have it redone soon.Ease of installation.Cute designThe cons: definitely not a good price. It costs waaay too much for Styrofoam! Period! $5 a square is more than tile!Damages easy. Do not have a ring or anything in your hands when smothing.Overall it would be a great short term fixed if priced better or more per package!
