This thing is amazing. It works quickly
This thing is amazing. It works quickly, very quickly. When I first got it, the tip broke off and I didn't realize how much replacements are. The product itself is pretty relatively inexpensive. I don't know why tips are half the price. I doubt that the tip accounts for half the cost to manufacture and distribute it. That's probably my biggest complaint. I do wish that this was capable of being charged via usb. This pen is so much cleaner, quicker, safer, and easier to use than my plug in unit and Dremel solder torch. I use rechargeable batteries with it. I'm happy I went ahead and ordered one because I was on the fence when reading prior reviews. I don't understand how anyone who works on gadgets could not love this. It took a little getting used to (less than a minute), but once I got used to it, I was shocked by how quickly it worked. By far my favorite thing about it is it doesn't affect shrink tubing as much or at all.

Dont add to cart!
I had extremely high hopes for this. Extremely convenient due to size and no cord. One of the problems is I get about 1 minor solder completed before batteries die. 4 brand new AA batteries installed and I was only able to solder 1 positive lead and 1 negative on a remote control circuit board. After that the batteries were drained to the point that it only made a decent flashlight. I then drove to the store and purchased a 20 pack of new batteries to ensure my observation to be correct. So on average before the batteries died i was able to solder 2 spots that were 1/8th of an inch long by 1/16th wide. I have no intention to purchase new batteries every time I use it for my hobbies. I'll keep it around as a flashlight for my solder jobs.

I have never used a coldheat soldering gun like this before
I have never used a coldheat soldering gun like this before, so I was cautious about buying one, but the "New & Improved" in the title made me think, Why not? And i am somewhat happy about buying it. It has been useful so far for small electronics repairs and practicing soldering. I found that the tip does not cool off quite as quickly after use if you have had it hot for more than a few seconds. In any event, if you let it sit for a minute or two it should be cool enough to store. Dont touch the tip to your finger immediately after soldering. Dont trust the commercials.

I must say that the performance and ease of use that this pen has to offer is much worse than I anticipated
Ill be honest with this one, my motives for this product were to have a quick soldering iron for a short time on an average SMD pad. I must say that the performance and ease of use that this pen has to offer is much worse than I anticipated. Overall the ceramic tip is far larger that any other soldering iron that I have previously used. Here is some information that I think everyone buying this should know:Unlike a regular soldering iron, it does not wicks the solder onto the tip, the solder practically falls off.It works by shorting the solder between two ceramic tips, for this process to occur successfully the solder has to be place towards the end of the two tips which places it too far from the PCB to come into contact with.Precision with this thing is practically impossible. Its a battery killer.I would not recommend this product personally.

It works like an arc welder
1st one came DOA replacement came for free with free return. It works like an arc welder. Not the best for all soldering jobs. Good for quick small jobs where you don't feel like waiting 10 min for electrical heat or wasting gas burning yourself on a butane iron. Not easiest for tight spaces or fine solder work. It's alright for 15 bucks.

Murphy-ism, gadgets break as soon as their warranty expires
Arrived early and I am happy as possible. This is a replacement for one I have owned for more than twenty years. I know from experience every use more than pays for the purchase price. I’m not an electronic technodude but I’m not afraid of trying to fix something when it is an obvious loose wire. There must be a “Murphy-ism”about gadgets breaking as soon as their warranty expires. If upgrading is not in your plans, gently open it up and find the loose wire before you toss it!

Total garbage, do not buy
I'm an engineer, have soldered my fair share and own 10+ soldering irons and stations of various kind and price level. This "soldering pen" is total garbage. Instead of heating the tip normally, it has a split graphite tip that conducts electricity, and shorts out via whatever you touch. That generates heat in the tip which is what you solder with. Regular soldering irons just have a heating element in the tip, which heats up the tip, without shorting out via the material you touch. If you don't know what the above means, this is it:- It works much worse than a regular iron- This will destroy sensitive electronic components if you happen to touch two pins at the same time with the tip, which you will, because the tip is hugeIf you have to buy a crappy cordless iron, get the Hakko FX-901/P (https://amzn.to/2NPvADK) instead. That one works reasonably well.

ColdHeat Cordless Soldering Pen
This is a pretty cool little tool! I was super excited to try this out because I have never heard of anything like it. It's nice that I don't have to worry that I will burn my self soldering, because it is absolutely cool to the touch like it says it is. This is great for small fixes, but I wouldn't recommend it for people that solder different things all the time. Great for soldering on small electronics.
