Better Off Ted: Season 1

Amazing
One of the best comedy sitcoms of all time, and no canned laugh tracks.

This show is clever and hilarious
I love Better Off Ted. I wish it would have lasted more than two seasons. I am looking forward to buying season two when it becomes available. The characters are loveable and quirky. The story lines are clever and the dialog is very funny. In one episode Ted takes his daughter to the company day care center where she is asked if she likes to paint. When she replies that she does, the lady at the day care center tells her that's good because today they will be painting the lines in the parking lot. Ted decides not to leave his daughter there, and she spends the rest of the day hanging out in the office where she is finally recruited to fire people by Ted's boss. This is a hilarious episode and the actors are wonderful, including the young actress who plays Ted's daughter. I don't understand why the series was cancelled. I highly recommend it. If you liked the movie Office Space, you will like Better Off Ted.

No laugh track but plenty of laughs!
This is the best show to come along in years- I have taken to watching old shows on METV because "modern" TV has basically nothing- They seem caught completely on the "Reality TV" concept....I've seen Star Trek episodes that are more real than most of those "reality" shows. Arrrgggggg!Anyway, this show has a great cast, great writing, great (Phony) Commercials, and is only missing one thing- The laugh track! Actually, I hadn't really noticed until a friend who I turned on to the show mentioned it.....I have a high tolerence for laugh tracks, having grown up with Gilligans Island and I Love Lucy, but how refreshing to not have it in your face- Laugh when YOU want to!Even though Veridian Dynamics is truly an evil corporation, I watch this show and can't help but want to work there- And I'm now retired....I'd let them freeze me- Aiyeeeeeeee!

The Best Show No One Is Watching
This show is wonderful at lampooning the corporate culture of America, in which everything and anything is fair game as long as the company makes a profit off the deal. Whoever writes this has had a taste of what life in a big company is like, where everyone is just a nameplate and nothing matters except making a profit.Ted is the super cool head of R & D at the company and Veronica is his cold as ice boss who simply can't relate to normal people. Ted is always trying to keep things under control, but usually ends up leading the insanity. Phil and Lem, the lab scientists, are so funny with how they fail to understand how their inventions will be used by the corporation.Bottom line - watch this show while you can because ABC has no appreciation for great comedy and so will probably cancel this show soon.

Refreshing Comedy
This series manages to introduce funny situations and funny responses from a whacky group of characters. There have been a number of books, films, etc., that parodied corporate America, but this t.v. series is not trite or stale. Rather, it is continually surprising and delightful. Of the many characters it is difficult to name a favorite -- Ted and Linda being the "straight men" for some of the more outrageous ones. Veronica (played by Portia de Rossi from "Arrested Development") is certainly a contender as the heartless and ambitious department head. Lem & Phil the nerdy research & development lab technicians always leave me wanting more. Also very entertaining are the brief and ever-presumptuous advertisements for Veridian Dynamics. Amid all the laughs many of the plot lines raise serious issues about integrity vs. profit motives; but clever writing allows the show to remain funny and thought-provoking.

Subversive humor in the vein of Dilbert
This is another show about how Work is Hell. But the humor is not quite as dark or mean as in some, even tho there's plenty of snark and lunacy.Veridian Dynamics is one of those soul-less `anything for a profit" companies, specializing in hard science. Our Hero is Ted, who develops a bit of more compass and conscience. Unfortunately (or is it fortunately?) his boss is played by the ever lovely Portia de Rossi, who plays a ice-queen who sold her moral compass to the devil years ago. She's delightfully amoral. Then there's the two "Lab rats" , who do the buddy role and mad scientist role, both.Hilarious, subversive, snarky, fun, under-rated.The DVD contains no significant extra material. (boo!)

REAL must-see tv...
Put simply, "Better Off Ted" is irresistible! With its combination of wit, sarcasm, and good old-fashioned silliness, this show is a winner on every level. The characters are engaging, the acting is superb, the storylines and setup are clever and ridiculously believable, and the promotional advertisements for the fictitious Veridian Dynamics are hilarious. If you like "The Office," you'll probably love this show as well--it's like a grownup version at a much larger and more realistic mega-corporation. Even better, although Ted addresses the camera from time to time, there's no film crew that is part of the show, so you feel like he's just sharing some insights with you.One final note: You may not be completely enthralled after the first episode, but once you get that second one under your belt, you'll be addicted. Consider yourself warned <=b

I miss Ted
First watched this show while it was on Netflix, and they've since taken it off. Had to purchase it because we love to rewatch it. If you've ever worked for a big company, you'll find this show hilarious. From the very first episode, where they cyrogenically freeze Phil for an experiment, to RELAXX-A-CON (the extra X is for more ZZs!), and especially to the "commercial break" bumpers for Veridian, this show is excellent. I wish we'd gotten more than 2 seasons. Veronica, Phil & Lem, and even Ted, we miss you.

Love, love, love this TV show
This show has pretty dry humour. Our friends borrowed the set and couldn't get into it because of that. But I don't really love sitcoms... except for this one. It's a hilarious look at a fictional corporate R & D department -- weaponizing pumpkins, growing meat in a lab, inventing scatchy fabric for office chairs to increase productivity... it's ridiculous and amazing. They even have silly fake commercials promoting the company interspersed into the show (not a ton -- maybe one an episode). I wish there more seasons, but at least they went out with a bang instead of a whimper.

Complete (??) Series One
Another new US comedy show so good that it's been cancelled by the network after just one series!Baffling, as this is a consistently funny show, with a batch of likable characters and bizarre plots - perhaps the UK can reverse the usual process and remake it for here.Curiously the box states that this is the COMPLETE series One, and has 13 episodes on two discs. However IMDB lists 24 episodes as having been made and shown - so where are the other 11 episodes?

Amazing! Bring back this show!
This show is still relevant and clever. I think it was ahead of it's time sadly and that is why it didn't last.

Serie Top Rest Flop
