BLACKHAWK Men's Light Weight Tactical Shorts

After owning various tactical clothing, I made the switch to Blackhawk for a reason. They truly are designed with intention, purpose, and quality in mind. I won't bother readers with technical information, because good reviews can be found by doing a google search on 'The tactical pants review'. I have been using the 'Blackhawk lightweight tactical pant for prison work, in the last two years. They are the best pant i have ever had. I decided to give these shorts a go, as it is summer here in Australia. The pants are fantastic in both summer, and also winter conditions. In extreme heat (45 degrees +) you do not sweat in the pants, nor the shorts (which I am wearing now as we speak) The shorts and pants have multiple, convenient pockets, including hidden / secret pockets. They are around knee length, and are extremely comfortable like the big brother pants ! They have a unique tuxedo-style, tunneled waistband, with potential to expand the waist up to four inches! (great for seasonal expansion :)They fit true to jeans sizes / lengths, and have multiple sizing options! I am a 38 in jeans, and this is a comfortable fit for me, with no belt requirements, unless it's a duty belt.I can jump, dive, roll around, run, without any comfort issues!They are not a slim fit, rather a relaxed fit, but not baggy. They pass all airports without any metal detection issues.I have used these for fishing, and even every day wear, and they are fantastic.When washing these pants, use cold / mild warm water, also make sure you turn them inside out, and close all the zippers up. This will preserve life. Invest in some washing powder with 'no-fade' components. My 2 x blackhawk light weight pants have not faded after two years, and still look new! You do not need to iron them, tell the wives, girlfriends not to!I recommend these shorts to anyone who is in law enforcement, military, combat, outdoor environment, or just an adventure seeker ! i also recommend these for travel, and everyday wear, as they are everything you could hope for, and better.If I were to state a con for these pants, it's the misleading name, they are not that 'light weight' as the name suggest. I have owned lighter pants in %100 cotton. Due to the quality of these pants and mixture of materials, they are slightly heavier. All in all, there are way too many pros that outweigh the weight issue, which mind you does not interfere with mobility at all.I hope blackhawk keep this line going. I will be purchasing more as an investment soon.

These shorts Rock! Unlike other tactical shorts these have zipper pockets as well as regular pockets on both sides of the pants. Nice and deep too. Good for securing money, smart phone, etc when traveling. Cargo pockets on the legs also have side zipper compartments. Good for housing keys or phone or for that matter anything else you don't want to fall out. Cargo pockets or roomy with velcro flaps. Rear pockets are deep and the zipper wallet pocket is just the right size for a bifold wallet. Construction is heavy. Nothing flimsy about theses pants. If you want something light and breezy these ain't it. But they are comfortable and the hidden elastic sides are great for someone like myself who is over 40 and has a bit of a gut. I wear a size 38 and these were a size 38. I will order again. These shorts are tough enough to work construction yet they look good enough to wear out to dinner with a collared shirt or polo shirt.

I have to say first off, I'm generally not impressed with shorts! If they look okay, fit okay, they're okay! But these shorts are clearly the most comfortable, nicest looking and probably the most functional shorts I've ever owned.I normally wear size 33 waist, but the 32's fit me almost perfectly.The gusseted crotch is a great feature. There seems to be plenty of "action" room in the fit, generally speaking, yet they still look nice. The silicone bead is a really nice feature, tho I wish it were a bit thicker. It not only helps to hold the shirt in, it helps to hold the shorts up, without having to use an additional belt.The stretch waist is very clever in that it's almost imperceptible, but seems very well made and functional. Rear pockets are unique, and a nice style touch. Speaking of pockets, there are more than enough.The fabric seems to be really tough, and even though it's slightly stiffer than normal, it's a non issue. Very functional DWR finish, and ripstop.In short, I love these shorts! I've never said that about any other shorts, and likely never will!

I ordered two pair of these Tactical shorts (Navy and Tan) because of their looks and utility. The pockets are deep and the pockets have pockets! I figured if the guys who wear these for hours on end find them comfortable then they'd be the right choice for me. There is also a continuous, small rib of soft silicone material around the entire inside waist band which keeps your shirts tucked in nicely!Overall, these are the best, really good looking, Cargo (type) Men's shorts you can find. I say Cargo "type" because these shorts are better than any other Cargo pants that you can find! They are rugged; well made and handle all of those "things" I carry on a daily basis!

These shorts are pretty good. Plenty of pockets and the design of the pockets in the back are very nice and accessible. The fabric and zipper is very durable too.The issues I have are that they used a cheap plastic button with cheap thread on said button. Popped off the 4th time I used them. Hopefully that isn't a sign to come. Second issue is more of a preference and has nothing to do with quality or the fact that it is well designed. There are 2 front pockets, I believe they are knife pockets or flashlight pockets. Those pockets would be perfect for a cell phone if it was taller. It's plenty wide to fit a smart phone but not tall enough. I also have a slyde flash light that is too tall for the pocket.
