Decent Value
These things are nice, but at the same time they're terrible.Pros: I got them on sale for ~$160, which is about half the price of any other set of 50lb dumbbells I could find, it is a great deal especially on a sale. Other than that, once adjusted they work as you weights should though a bit on the rattly side. I will say the complaints about weights not locking in would be remedied by just paying attention to the big heavy things before you lift them over your head.Cons: Pretty much everything else. First off, I am largely opposed to making things "smart" that don't need to be. There are literally zero scenarios I could think of in which smart functionality would make an adjustable weight better. Secondly while reading the reviews I read many claiming any software would effectively brick the weights, I contacted amazon since they are the seller and after the better part of an hour received no answer as to whether or not the issue was fixed or even acknowledged. While I don't care for the smart functionality, if it's advertised it should work without risk of effectively breaking your item.To go with the smart problems is the fact that there is no way to manually adjust the weight on the dumbbells. While I've found the knob works well enough, and it actually adjusts better and faster than expected, it creates scenarios that really. For example, we had a power outage and while I was bored at the house I figured I'd get in a little workout which was great for the one workout weight the dumbbells were set to, however since power was out and there was no way for me to adjust the weight I couldn't do any workouts where that weight wasn't right.Overall, the weights are a decent value compared to other options if you can get past the broken smart functionality and the lack of manual adjustments. 160 bucks is definitely worth dealing with some hassles as opposed to spending ~$400 on a better overall set.

Worked fabulously until iSelect setup
UPDATE:Change the rating from 1 start to 4 star because the device itself is really nice, as long as you keep it factory reset and DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE iSelect or iFIT.FEEDBACK TO NORDICTRACK:I have three points of feedback to Nordic track:1. Include Factory reset instructions in your printed manual and your FAQ:Factory reset: Plug in the unit, press and hold the knob for about 10 seconds until it shows "8.8.", then rotate to "Fr" (Factory Reset) and press and hold until the display shows "--".That one bit of information would have saved me SO MUCH TIME!2. Make firmware upgrade OPTIONAL in iSelect.Right now, regardless of the desires of the user, if you register your unit with iSelect it will download and install the latest firmware.A lot of people are happy with the unit the way it is and does not want to gamble with an upgrade.3. REVERT CURRENT FIRMWARE, it BRICKS the unitThe current firmware version is SO BAD. I'm a software professional and a hardware engineer, so please listen to me here. There is everything wrong with that version:* It disregards the safety stops at the end of the actuator. It will burn up the servo if you don't unplug it. (SERIOUS!)* It hangs frequently (one or two adjustments of weight, which isn't a lot because of the backwards display update, see next point) (Bricking)* It doesn't update the display as you turn the knob, you have to guess, and then later when the servo has moved, then the display updates.* It listens poorly to the knob. One notch may or may not change the setting.* It often just displays a mess of segments and not an arabic number, and then hangs.* It cannot keep a wifi connection to save its life. I have a 2.4 GHz dedicated network within 3 feet from the unit and I have not once had a successful alexa command even though it claimed to be paired. I don't need it, but I wanted to check it out. It connects and then drops out. Please let me know if you want more details. Happy to help.// PhilORIGINAL MESSAGE:Do not set it up with the iselect app. As soon as you do it will update firmware and the new firmware has the following bugs:* weight cannot be set* will disregard extremity stops and may burn the motor or break the servo* will disblay garbage in the 2x7 segment display* will hang - only foxed by unplugging.Again, before I stupidly configured the app it was great, now it is a way too heavy door stop. I’m sad.
