Replaced my TOPENS TEW3 in ground sensing wand with this Mighty Mule wand. The new cable has the same color and number wires. The wiring instructions also connect exactly the same as the Topens wand. The new sensitivity board actually has a small finger (knob) adjustment that make it easier to adjust rather than using a micro screwdriver which is required with the Topens (I was never sure if I was turning the small control to far, damaging it w/ screwdriver).I connected it and it worked the first time so I pulled the cable thru my underground conduit reconnected, finished. I used my riding lawnmower to test it several times, worked every time. Total replacement took me a little over an hour.

Still working after one year. It takes multipe adjustments to dial it in but after that very happy.

Problem solved

The sensor works however at least 2x a day the gate opens randomly - like clockwork-once around morning time and once in the afternoon. Thank goodness hasn’t done it at night. Had it professionally installed and no technical support for product. Kind of annoying for this to be happening.

These are not complete I ordered 2 of these and because of illness we just got around to installing them neither o e of them included the range adjustment board. Maybe I could have blamed mispackaging for one BUT BOTH MISSING THIS ITEM THAT THE BOOK CLEARLY STATED IT IS INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE

My current sensor failed (different brand) so I picked this one up. After putting it in the same place as the old one, it would not always pick up a vehicle…including my 40,000lb motor home. So, since I have a gravel driveway, I installed it in the middle of the driveway where it works fine…but again, the vehicle is running right over it…I had to do the install twice, so I hope it at least lasts…I would pass on this one next time and look for a different unit.

Works only on some cars it does not like pickup trucks I guess because they are higher. Easy to install and looks very well sealed

Product was marketed as universal and was top search item on mighty mule sensor but cheaper than mighty mule brand. I purchased it and the directions were wholely inadequate. I wired the sensor according to both mighty mule's and manufacturers instructions. The sensor failed to work. I then tried every possible wiring configuration with the wires and plugs on the gate. The sensor never worked. This was a total loss of money. I still don't know if I received a defective sensor or if the universal product doesn't work with my gate.
