Not really easy to fit. You need to be quite a capable DIY'er, good with reasonably powerful masonary drills, wrenches and screwdrivers. The chosen wall and/or floor NEEDS to be very solid and NOT 'crumbly' or 'loose' at all or its just not going to turn out well. If you have opted for a variable 'height' version. The process of adjustment and 'trimming' is quite involved, it needs a good amount of clear dry space to 'work' in and a very steady hand to cut the fabric in a straight line - BUT these are all well worth the effort (or paying someone else to trim and fit). Very good to look at - 'Beautiful' in fact. Once securely fitted, the awning housing and pillar are a bit 'industrial' looking but do fit in with a 'modern' style look. The paintwork is o.k and up-to-the-'job', but I can see how this could be damaged with less than careful installation and cause corrosion problems in hostile environments (wet and 'salty' air) long term. The 'sprung' return mechanism and operation is super well designed, substantial and easy to use once set up correctly. The fabric itself is top notch, not too thick and heavy or cumbersome, not too light or too flimsy to be useless - but it is not total 'blackout' fabric, i.e. it will let some light through (depending on the fabric colour) but that is actually very nice and a desired feature in many applications, such as mine. Which would otherwise be a rather dark corner of the garden. I'm looking for a bit of extra shade, not trying to build a photographic 'dark-room'. It does reduce the amount of wind and light rain blowing in. Smaller versions like mine are ideal for a bit of a wind/ sun 'break' shade or just extra 'privacy'. Very large versions would actually be suitable as something of a retractable 'partition' wall! (My next project). All-in-all very pleased with these - could easily have paid quite a lot more, for not much more quality.

We used this item to screen off our puppies so they didn't get upset by passers by our garden plus for their security.

item was very flimsy - was dented and dirty when I opened it - it would not retract as it was supposed to. the roller blinds in my house are stronger - very disappointed

Easy to install, very sturdy and great protection in our covered bar area for autumn nights.

Brilliant product but a bit bulky for our intended use.So returned. No problems there the return and refund dealt with swiftly.

Screen comes in several parts which all need to be put together. The instructions to do so however are extremely poor! The instructions are only in picture form and not at all clear.

Rubbish not sturdy at all, do not buy.

The item was not as specified ... it could not be secured to the floor as required . It was also not long enough as described in the sorecification
