I have a mock eotech 553 and I can confidently say that this does not fit. The top tab is too thick. Even when removing the metal outer cowl for the site, it still does not fit correctly. The two side tabs do fit however it is not secured and if face down will fall off.

Blurry? No. A little warped? Yes. I bought this thing as insurance for my fake 551 sight( for Airsoft). It doesn't feel flimsy, but I don't think it will stop multiple BBs up close. Something to note about Holographic sights in general is that they're meant to be looked through with both eyes open. The user is supposed to focus on the target and not the reticle itself. This is why many people believe their optic is blurry or defective. Installation was easy and it feels like it won't go anywhere. I unscrewed and slid off the outer shell of my 551 sight and slid on the protector first. Then I replaced that outer shell and tightened the screws once the protector was as deep as it could go. Now the only problem is that it won't sit flush on my unit, but it doesn't bother me. Overall, my sight picture is nearly perfect and now protected. I just wish that this price point it was thicker. Because for only around 2 dollars more, you can get the real thick plexiglass protector from somewhere else.

I've been through a couple of these now and they've done their job admirably. Two EO Techs have been saved in training by using this protector. Great value and durable enough to take at least one or two good hits before it's time to swap them out.

This is like looking through an 18th century glass window. Everything is highly distorted. I’m sure it provides good protection for the optic but it makes the optic almost unusable.

If you care about your optic, do not buy this product. They does not withstand an impact. The plastic covef piece will break within the first impact and it is made of a weak plastic composite.
