Gets the fur out.
I have three big dogs. One pit, one german shepard and one australian shepard. I use the brush on the shepards and it works well. Still have to put in a lot of time, but this helps a lot!

Really good product!
I bought this because I absolutely couldn't find the de-sheddind comb I've had for a while. It turned up a day before this one arrived - and I'm so happy I didn't send it back! This is an awesome comb. The angle makes it easy to hold, though when my dog won't turn around (wanting me to brush him from the front), the ability to detach the handle is super handy.I have a large lab with a pretty good undercoat, which means he sheds every day of the year, and twice a day in the spring and fall. Not combing him at least a couple times a week results in chocolate lab fuzz all over the house! The teeth of this comb seem finer than those of my old comb, and they get right in and pull up the fine hairs. Hershey TOTALLY loves it, asks would happily let me brush him all day long with this thing.I wasn't sure about the plastic cover when I ordered. It acts like the cover on a safety razor - except there's no way to hurt yourself putting it back on. It clicks on and off fairly easily, but fits snugly. It certainly guarantees the teeth won't get tangled in anything in the junk drawer.I would definitely buy this again. But I'm going to make a better effort at keeping Hubby from misplacing it. Did I mention whose junk it was found in? Just sayin'.

A great device. Works well. Sturdy. Great for shedding
I have used the other brand names and decided to try this one. The prices seem to be somewhat disproportionate to the fact that this is a simple device. But, it may be harder to manufacture than I appreciate. So, in a cost saving mood, I decided to try this one.It is every bit as effective as the other brand. In fact, the handle and ergonomics are somewhat better.I do have one from the other company that has push button cleaning. I find that a rather nice but relatively useless option. Pushing the button gets the hair out of the brush, but you still have to wipe the brush clean of the hair. I prefer to simply pull the hair clean after each pass. That is just my preference. And, there is one from the other company that is curved. That is a nice option. But, this flat one is well tolerated and doesn't seem to pull as much. So, try this one. Cost effective, easy to use, and does the job.

It works!
Works very well, just have to be careful not to push too hard as the bristles are quite sharp.

The only tool that you need for shedding Dogs and Cats
We have been using this tool (medium/large size) for a little over a year now with our dog and two cats. It is simple and easy to use. I don’t use any other brushes anymore. In general, you should know the following:(1) This is appropriate for dogs and cats that shed their fur (so don't use this if you have an animal that does not shed). Use of the tool has significantly reduced the amount of shedding time, and it gently stimulates their skin and makes their fur shiny.(2) This tool does not "cut" fur and it is not sharp--This tool simply gently removes (a lot of) fur that is about to shed.(3) You use it like a regular brush in the gently in the direction of their hair growth. The blade captures the removed fur and it stays there until you remove it by hand. I have not seen a significant amount of fur flying around when I use it or remove fur (unlike standard pet brushes). My Dog is a Sheppard/lab/terrier mix with a double coat and she seems to have 3 major shedding cycles (short fuzzy undercoat, longer winter outercoat, longer summer outercoat). The tool will pick up each type of fur (depending on what is shedding). She really enjoys being brushed with this tool and there is so much less fur around (clothes/house/car etc)Cats: Both of my cats have short hair and used to shed (and get hairballs) the entire summer when we used a normal cat brush (which neither of them enjoyed). I found that by using this tool instead, it removed the shedding hair so efficiently that they actually stopped shedding (and getting hairballs) pretty quickly. My 9 year old, 18lb lean, friendly cat loves being brushed with this tool (purrs during). My older scaredy-cat shrunk a bit, didn't like it too long last night so I just ordered the smaller size tool hoping this works better for both of us.

Sharp
Maybe it would work for long haired animals but it hurt my cat & dog.

Great dog brush.
Our doggo is shedding constantly and this brush has helped us control the extra fur around the house. He seems to like to be brushed with it. I am happy that I don't need to vacuum every day now!

Well worth it
I received this today. I paid full price, this isn't a paid review. Now that that's out of the way......I see myself hating this thing in the future. My dog has brought it to me 4 times in the last 3 hours. I think he may already be addicted. He's a short haired dog from Africa, and he now lives in Illinois, so I'm not getting a lot of hair off him as other reviewers had. It's November and getting cold. I didn't really expect to get any. I'm getting way more than I expected. I bought it more for spring when he sheds himself nearly bald, but I had to try it out today because....well how could I not, I just got it. :)I've used it on him 4 times for about 5 minutes each. Each time when we are done, there has been a significant amount of fur on the comb. There's also been quite a bit of dander coming loose (dry skin is an issue with him) The hair is super simple to remove. I have arthritis in my hands, but it is still easy to use since you don't need apply pressure, which means you can also grip it fairly loosely. While my dog has never disliked being brushed, I've never had him bring me the brush. Leashes, car keys, and sweaters...he drags those things to me all the time (he might be spoiled). 4 times he's brought that brush to me. Today. And he leaned on me with all his considerable weight with his eyes closed and his tail wagging the whole time I used it on him.The only downside is that the blade cover is a bit difficult to get off, but that's more my problem than a manufacturing issue, rheumatoid arthritis is a bully that way, and it's nice to see something fit that snugly so I don't have to worry about him hurting himself as he brings it to me.

My dog enjoys this brush!
My English Cocker Spaniel has very fine fur that mats easily. She also is sensitive to how our grooming time goes. Not one to endure long sessions at a groomer’s , so I do short sessions frequently. So happy she loves the feel of this slicker brush and lies back on the floor to feel itmassaging her skin. Very happy to be brushed and am amazed at all the undercoat the brush picks up. Also works great with mats, a slow and easy brushing which she tolerates well. Much better than trying to scissor cut the mats. Very pleased it has added to making our grooming times pleasant and productive. Will definitely be ordering again!! Thank you!

Waste of money
Useless. I couldn’t get it to comb my American Eskimos.

Good but smaller than I thought
Good but smaller than I thought . Not sure if dimensions were stated. Really could use a bigger one but it does work inky takes more time.
