Henna, PERSIAN RED, 4 OZ by Rainbow Research

I decided to try this henna since it is pure and very affordable. I also liked that it came in a jar. It arrived quickly, and I was excited to try it.I used hot water from my tap, although it’s probably is best to use distilled, and mixed about 3/4 of the jar with it in a plastic bowl. It was just enough to cover my hair, which is a little below my shoulders.Yes it does have a very earthy smell, but I found it preferable to the ammonia smell in conventional dyes. I washed my hair with a clarifying shampoo, and then applied the henna with gloved hands to my damp hair. I believe having the hair damp made it much easier to apply. I also made sure that the henna wasn’t too runny or dry. It was similar to a thicker yogurt’s consistency.After applying, I wrapped my hair with plastic wrap, and put a towel over my head. I occasionally used a hair dryer to apply heat as well.I left the henna on for two hours. Washing it off didn’t take long for me since the henna was still wet on my head. It stopped bleeding quickly in the shower as well.Now it’s a few days later, and I have several different reddish tones in my hair. On the darker brown parts, it turned burgundy. On the lighter parts, it turned more reddish and coppery. Indoors my hair looks like a dark auburn, and in the sunlight it has a very coppery glow.I’m really happy with the process and results. I will continue to apply this henna. It was not as difficult or messy for me as I thought it would be. Plus my hair is now extra shiny and feels soft.

My lips are SO FAIR. I have no color in them what so ever. I decided to follow a tutorial from YouTube; I bought this, mixed it with hot water, and tea tree oil. I love it! My lips have a little color to them, they look natural, and it lasts about 2 days.

Worse hair color product EVER in my 41 years. 1st time using Henna. Followed directions and only using boiled water.Before my hair was soft, manageable straight and wavy. Would take 2 minutes to brush out of shower. Now it's awful straw-like texture. I washed, rinsed and conditioned 5x since I 1st put it on days ago. It now takes 20 minutes to try to brush my matted straw like hair after a shower now. And theres a weird waxy film in parts. Plus it's very dry, frizzy, coarse, and an ugly clown orange with my dark brown roots. I chose red henna.....awful. Exact opposite of what I heard about henna.

Great henna product offering intense orange color and shine to hair. Covers grey hair very well if you add vinegar to the mixture as suggested. I like to mix the red and marigold blonde colors together to get more natural looking lighter red highlights.

Great henna, easy to use and makes hair nice and shiny!
