Love all the songs!

My wife from Mongolia first introduced me to MLTR while I was traveling in Asia. I am surprised by the energy level and quality the music has in it.The lyrics have become a theme song for our lives. I recommend this to anyone that enjoys good POP rock with a meaningful message!

Frankly, I never liked MLTR way back in high school, when they were popular. My friends were buying their casette tapes (you can imagine the time) while I was laughing at how cheesy their songs were.A decade hence, and now I just discovered how great this group actually is (despite the pitiful, unglorious renditions of their songs at your neighborhood karaoke bars). Maybe it's nostalgia, maybe it's the romantic lines and the sappy music, but either way, everytime I hear MLTR, I get reminded of those days when the love you feel is pure and emotions are real.Good compilation. But it would be great if it had "Paint My Love" and "25 Minutes".

Michael Learns To Rock is the biggest internationally successful soft-pop musical band to come out of Denmark. Their music is known for their pop songs with a blend of the Scandinavian musical euphony. The band is comprised of (as of now) - Jascha Richter (singer and keyboard player), Kåre Wanscher (drummer), and Mikkel Lentz (guitarist). (Bass guitarist Søren Madsen left MLTR in 2000 to enhance his solo career)This collection is amazing to listen at a stretch, and I am writing about the songs I liked most in it -Strange Foreign Beauty (10/10) - Great 'strange music' when the song begins. Similarly amazing voice of Jascha Ricter. Good, slow electric guitar piece music towards the end of the song.Someday (10/10) - A fast paced song sung by a lover giving hope to his girl. Nice guitar interludes and chorus singingSleeping Child (10/10) - From their album - Colours, this is a passionate song about the sleeping child. Nice guitar piece musicComplicated Heart (9/10) - A sad-to-happy song, slow, soulful lyric. Nice acoustic guitar musicSomething You Should Know (8/10) - A sad song with the MLTR touch - the song of a lover looking at his girl of the pastThat's Why (You Go Way) (10/10) - One of my favorites - great piano music piece in the beginning, appropriate chorus in the ending of the song, a sad story of a love-lorn loverThe Actor (10/10) - A good typical teenage song - great chorus, acoustic guitar musicWild Women (10/10) - A fast paced funny song - (quote)"Send the wild women out the backdoorMy wife is knocking at the front doorThey made me a winner they made me a sinnerI don't know what to doDirty money in the left handWhile the preacher's shaking my right handThey made me a winner they made me a sinnerI don't know what to do"Breaking My Heart (8/10) - A sad but good song with nice chorus singingI'm Gonna Be Around (8/10) - Nice chorus and guitar interludes. Chorus dominates here!I'm Gonna Come Back (9/10) - The song of a lover who is leaving for war, reassuring that he will return from the war and bring things back to normalRomantic Balcony (9/10) - A romantic ballad type song with the lover's thoughts flashing back and forth between war scenes and their tranquil balcony. Nice guitar piece and chorus singingSleeping Child (Special Remix) (10/10) - A lullaby-type song, with more than just singing to the child. Smooth, nice chorus and guitar/Piano music combination.If you enjoy melodious songs with beautiful lyrics and catchy tunes, then this collection could be for you. Give it a try !!!

Took a chance on an unknown band and was delighted! Strong, attractive melodies, pleasant rhythms (fast & slow), excellent performances & production. Highly recommended!

OK let's face it, Michael Learns to Rock is not going to win a grammy anytime soon. They are a Danish band singing radio/karaoke friendly soft rock ballads (in English), and were heavily marketed in Asia during the 90s. Although they write their own songs as far as I know, they can be repetitive and derivative. But to their credit, they have embraced this unique niche, and have even recorded remakes of Mandarin cantopop songs. Thanks for the memories lads.

<<Michael Learns to Rock>> could be the most known soft-rock group from Denmark. In fact, it could be one of the best bands from Denmark. The group had made 3 albums since the debut in 1995. "That's Why (You Go Away)" became the top-selling hits and slashed through all the charts in Hong Kong and most parts of Asia in 1997 - and that was exactly how I got to know about <<Michael Learns to Rock>>. I was browsing through Tower Records in Hong Kong and I picked up the headphones and started listening to <<Paint My Love>>, one of the other albums.The soft rocks will just melt your heart! In this incredible compilation records the best of <<Michael Learns To Rock>>. Besides "That's Why (You Go Away)" that remains in charts for over 20 weeks, the album also includes "I'm Gonna Be Around", "Sleeping Child", "Something You Dhould Know" and bonus "25 Minutes". Get the CD and explore some of the best soft rocks you will ever listen to.

if one hasn't tried this album as yet, he/she should try listening to this wonderful genre of music a.s.a.p. ! The album is too good...not like other pop groups, ... MLTR music has a class of their own. Its useless trying to speak on this talented group's creditibility...better check it out yourself, and believe me, the album is worth a buy, and won't dissappoint you with ur hard earned money.
