Dell Inspiron 3050 Mini Computer. . . Great
I just want to give a short review on the (2015) version of the Dell Inspiron 3050 mini. In short it is an excellent value for the price with very good internals. . Very good dual band Wifi that has good recceiving radios when distance from the router matters. I suggest that you make sure all of the drivers and BIOS are up to date. I updated Win 10 to the current version 10586 without issues. I am using the unit as a HTPC streamer. I turned off all of the Win 10 nonsence including Cortana. 2GB of memory is not enough for memory hungry Win 10. I am upgrading to a 4GB module that should exceed Win 10's background requirements. . Dell knows 2GB memory is barely enough for Win 10. . My memory upgade . . Kingston Technology 4GB 1600MHz DDR3L PC3-12800 ( cost $18.00 on Amazon) . . Other than the lowly 2GB memory, I love the unit and I recommend it to any one looking for a HTPC capable device or for general computing. It is speedy enough to make you happy.

One star
Is very good, although noticed its a bit slow, might need a RAM upgrade.Update: since using this computer for streaming and such lately it has turned into the worst computer I own. Since a random windows update nothing is working vlc won't work, connect ability to Bluetooth is non existent, extremely slow, I have upgraded everything to what people suggested and no help. This unit was everything that I needed, till now this unit is nothing but a paper weight. Very disapointed.

Intel's Compute Stick is a better option for streaming
I bought this as a gift to be used as a home theater PC. I have built my own Windows- and OpenElec-based HTPCs. In addition, I bought Intel's Compute Stick (also as a gift) and several set-top boxes (Roku, Amazon Fire TV, etc.). Thus, I have used other similar products before and by comparison, this Dell has the following real-world pros and cons.Pros:This device has greater expandability than both set-top boxes and the Compute Stick - one can open the case and increase the amount of RAM or the size of the SSD.Connectivity - you have an ethernet port and several USB ports.Cons.The bloatware is absurd. It is difficult to imagine who would be using this device in a way that would benefit from installation of McAffee, Dropbox, etc. This device is not a workstation so the productivity tools should be omitted.Slower than the Intel Compute Stick - by a lot. This probably has a lot to do with the bloatware but it could also be related to its having a Celeron instead of a quad core Atom processor.Bottom Line: If you are looking for the best device (out of the box) to stream video, there are probably better choices. If you are streaming only Netflix, the Fire TV is tough to beat. If you are using only Kodi and its addons, install OpenElec on a Compute Stick. If you use both Netflix and Kodi, you will need Windows - and the Compute Stick still wins. This device could be made into a winner by (1) clean installing windows, (2) upgrading the RAM, and (3) increasing the size of the SSD. These steps are probably too technical and costly for many potential customers.

Two Stars
Slow, not much memory space. Slower than an early production Win7 dual core laptop.

Very good for my needs!
For what it is, this mini computer fit perfectly fine to my needs. I highly advise you to upgrade the RAM, I have mine maxed out to 8 Gigs. The built in memory, upgrade that as well if you want maximum performance because its 32GB built in memory runs out, FAST. I upgraded to this...MyDigitalSSD128GB (120GB) Super Boot Eco Drive 42mm SATA III 6G M.2 NGFF 2242 SSD Solid State Drive - MDM242-SBe-128Works wonders and if you still need more memory, the computer had a micro SD card slot to expand memory. If you want a powerful streaming device that allows for downloadable app games that have surprisingly good graphics, theb this device will suit just fine. I rate it 4 out of 5 stars due to the necessity to upgrade the computer to function to my needs.

Great computer. I bought it to build an inexpensive workstation at my in law's house so I could keep up with the office without having to use my iPad. Works great. I will probably add the RAM upgrade since it appears that if I have too many resources running it slows down. I plugged an old external hard drive into one of the USB slots and it works like a charm. Windows 10 loaded with no issue. At this price it is perfect for light duty type of applications.

This little PC is phenomenal for the price.
Used it to stream weather data to WeatherUnderground from an inconspicuous spot right behind my indoor weather console. Using remote access to maintain, so running it headless. Plenty of SSD space left after all Win10 updates, unlike mentioned by a prior reviewer. I was prepared to replace the SSD with a larger capacity if needed, but did not have to ... same with RAM. Prior reviews tell you what RAM and SSD's work for expanding capabilities if you need it.

so bad. I doubled the RAM
So, so bad. I doubled the RAM. It always... And I mean always has the rotating circle downloading. It keeps chiming as I type this review. Why? I don't know. I replaced my huge ass desktop because the sound would not work. I will fix that. Oh, the chime went off 5 times just now for no reason.
