In hindsight, this a nice novelty to have to carry with you. Although salt and pepper is found almost anywhere and not necessary to keep with you, I keep this in my backpackging mess kit. I usually pre-season prep food for ease but its a bourgeoisie knick knack to have =)The way it is constructed would last quite some time. Its clear to see easily how much you have. Its is a fairly thick acrylic body and its a springloaded rod rasping action that grinds the pepper and salt. Such a simple mechanism which gives it a such small form-facter and ease of use. You just depress the top plunger/button to grind it with one hand right over your food. Very user friendly. I really like this product even though I have used it so seldomly.

I was hoping that this was going to be a good product but when I received it I was very disappointed how a company can sell an item that costs this much and does not work at all. The salt is so hard to push down that children and elderly people can not use this item at all, and at times the salt button and the pepper button just sticks in the down position.The seller of this product should have perfected this grinding method before selling this product.

This grinder uses an internal mechanism made of metal, unlike all the knockoffs our there. I was concerned of size, but it fits perfectly in my smaller palm, and despite my tendonitis issues, works great. My main motivation for buying was that I can’t grab and twist things (opening a jar is a major issue)Even my husband uses this. Over the shaker and grinder we’ve had since marriage.Unless you have really bad arthritis issues, if you’re looking for a table set, for th practicality of not having to refill often, you may want to get a bigger size, but if it’s just for one person, this will be fine. Best part— the outer shell is acrylic, so if you drop it, no glass to clean up :)

There is so much to love about this product. The name of the company for starters! And really delightful to open, with so many things I didn't realize I would receive, such as the matching stand so you can easily keep them together on your counter. I got them because I wanted something small and handy for my office, and I liked the travel bag, which by the way is made of very nice material. The packaging was impressive and I loved the note about my product that came inside. It also came with salt and pepper to get you started! Now I have spoiled almost all the surprises. This is so nice I added it to my gift list.

I ordered this because I like fresh pepper on my food and bring salads often to work so I figured something small at work would, well, work.Short answer is-yes it does. Works as advertised, seems well made, the grind is not adjustable and works but plunging the metal burr-pole thru a cylinder with pepper corns (or salt) and ends up being relatively coarse.The only con is the 'travel case'-it fits the grinders but not the stand. In place of the stand I would rather just have a cap for the bottom but that's me.Is it worth it for $17? I don't know, that is a lot and while it works as advertised I am not certain it's worth the price so I only gave it 4 stars.

This is the best travel salt and pepper set I have ever owned. The fact that you can have fresh ground salt and pepper that you can keep in the case it comes with is perfect. If you take your lunch or just want to have salt and pepper when you get take out on the run, this is just perfect. I highly recommend this product.

Noisier than a typical twist-grinder, but otherwise you get your own great freshly ground salt and pepper in a reasonably compact size. Kinda pocketable, but more purse-able. Better used in a kit with your camping gear or in your spices kit for a weekend at a rental. A little too small, loud, and annoying for use on the dinner table... I'd rather just use a twist grinder at that point.

When the restaurants are allowed to serve inside, more often than not, the usual items on the table are gone, especially salt and pepper shakers. I hated touching those to begin with-they were usually grimy. These have been perfect . I keep them in my purse and pull them out whenever we're out to eat. I can refill them easily from my own kitchen stores. Highly recommended.

Great product! Small enough to keep in a purse with the convenient pouch and big enough to use several times before having to refill.No more long wait at the restaurant to get the water to bring the pepper mill.... And a good conversation piece too when you pull this out of your purse at the restaurant with friends!
