Hanes Ultimate Boys' 6-Pack Ankle Socks

"Fit as hoped"Figuring out which socks to order was a challenge. After your kiddo grows over the toddler sizes, it becomes challenging to figure out from the size charts offered on these product listing. It would be helpful if it were acknowledged children's shoe sizes "start over" when they graduate from pre-school sizes to youth sizes, to adult sizes.Anyway, my son will be 6 years old next month.He wears a size 13.5 child to size 1 youth (going off Nike shoe sizes here).If he were any smaller these would be too big.The packaging says for shoe size 9 - 2.5. IMO there is no way this sock would be appropriate for a toddler wearing a size 9C, considering a 6 yr old wearing a 1Y, just fits into them.Anyway, they're very soft and cushioned. The heel is where it is supposed to be, and they are at his ankle described per the packaging.I always try and buy multiple packs of the same style/color socks so I am not trying to find the correct mate to a million dif. colored socks. Thankfully, a company figured that out and these are all of the same shade. I believe they also do this for convenience when you have an older boy and the Hanes Logo is a different color (so you won't have to figure out what kiddo the socks belong to). I posted a photo below showing the size in ratio to my hand and the coloring used.Now that I know what size actually fits, I would repurchase these again and I will look to purchase some "no show" socks for summer.

Here's my best guess at the size chart, assuming there's any consistency (Though I also suspect it may just be random)Small 1-2 year olds??Medium 3-4 year olds (this is what I ordered and received)Large 5+??I purchased medium for my two year old, because he outgrew his other socks. I received socks that were too large.I suspect that the seller has no idea what the sizes are either, because the sizes don't make sense, and based on the reviews everybody gets different things, when they order the same size.Anyway, the socks I received were too big, but they're only "a little bit" too big. My son will probably wear them ok in about six months, so I decided to keep them. The two pictures for this product as I write this review, are likely "small" and "large" respectively. Good luck!

LIKES: Totally cute on my boys (4 and 2 years old). They are snug enough for my 2 year old and stretch enough for my 4 year old, but they return back to their original size so they don't seem to loose elasticity right away (my boys have been sharing them all summer...about 3 months). The boys wear them while running from the hard wood floors, to carpet, to the wood deck, the brick patio, and sand/gravel yard... and haven't burned any holes in them yet. It's sort of amazing. The socks seem well cushioned around the heels and toes, and no problems with stinky sweaty feet yet. I bought these ankle socks along with the mid-calve style socks. I don't have a problem with the ankle socks riding down their heels and falling off.DISLIKES: I took a star off because I originally got the impression they were made in the USA. The seller does indicate some of the products are made in other countries but I didn't get to choose which ones I get. Too much going on around the world as far as labor ethics and such, I'd like to move towards purchasing locally made goods where I am familiar with the company's labor ethics. Hane's touts "America’s First Name in Comfort Since 1901" but that doesn't mean they still manufacture in the USA. Bummer.

We go through kids socks at a rate that is astounding! I like these socks for kids. They are soft, wash well and with multiple socks in the pack if one gets lost there are no 'stray socks' because they all match! We've had these socks for over a year now and my son (7) won't wear any other socks. (That's why I'm back to order more-- they do disappear, but I won't blame Amazon or Hanes for that. Haha.) He calls them his "pillow socks." He's very picky about seams and bumps in his socks and for some reason, these don't bother him.

I bought a package of these socks for my almost-2-year old daughter and I absolutely love them! They're soft, thick, stretchy, comfy, and stay on great! In fact, I came back to the page to buy another package or two for her because I like them that much! My daughter wears a size 6-6.5 toddler shoe right now, and I think these socks are going to fit for a long time since they have a lot of stretch to them. They're also neutral enough that they work perfectly for a girl as well. They haven't lost their shape in several washes (although I've lost at least one somewhere -- but don't we always lose socks in the wash? especially tiny ones!). And she even keeps them on better than many of her dainty little girly anklets. Originally, I thought they were a decent investment to use later on as hand-me-downs for my newborn son, but now I just love them as practical socks for my toddler! Great buy, and good price on amazon!

My boys just began to wear a toddler size 8 shoes. Since they are at the top of the sizing scale, I wasn't sure what to order, but I decided to order the small socks based on the reviews that I read. They fit perfectly.I was in search of thicker socks, because my boys just began wearing Converse shoes and their heels seemed a little small for the shoes, but we needed the size 8 for the length. They were wearing the Circo (generic) socks. One of my sons had sores on the back of his heel after the first day of wearing the shoes with the generic socks, but has not had any sores since wearing the Hanes socks.I love that they have socks like mine. My husband wears Hanes socks, but they are black. I would love it, if the boys had socks like their dad's, but the black socks wouldn't look right with their black shoes. They look so sweet in their big boy socks. I love it!
