My mind's tellin' me no, but my body, my body's tellin' me... Eh.
I bought these looking for two things:1. To be able to grind with one hand, that's not battery operated.2. I wanted the one Alton Brown has been seen using. (I'm not sure if they're the ones but it's close if not. I'm leaning towards not though, because I could've sworn his had a finer grind.)Yes, the capacity of the grinder is not much but it's not difficult to refill. Just make sure the threads are free of debris and be careful to not cross thread when putting it back together. Wiping the threads with a clean and dry towel before reassembling may benefit the life of the product. No, you cannot adjust the coarseness, which makes me really sad. But, the coarseness is of reasonable size and if you only plunge partially, you can get mostly smaller bits. I would compare the *full-plunge grind* to the smallest setting on the McCormick salt and pepper grinders.Grinding is very easy but does have more resistance than I expected. (I do not have any disability in my hand so it's possible that it would not suit arthritic hands.)Price...I paid $39 for the plain SS set. I probably wouldn't be as disappointed with my purchase if it didn't cost as much. I figure, if it was what I wanted I wouldn't have an issue spending so much. I suppose it was a deal though because the seller's website was $45 on sale from $60. I try to buy direct when possible to avoid giving Bezos more money, but the cost discrepancy was too great.Overall, I'm not unhappy but I would've appreciated a finer grind. The quality of the product is good so I can't really complain, it just doesn't quite suit my needs.I need to keep looking for my one true grind.

The solution to things I didn't realize were a problem.
We've been using traditional mills/grinders for pepper and salt for some time. These other grinders tend to not be consistent in the size of the ground results or have just come apart, making a real mess. It is not always convenient to use two hands to add a bit of pepper. They also tend to leave a mess in their spot on the counter. Enter the Grind Gourmet and the solution to things I didn't realize were a problem. I had first seen these clever tools in the hands of AB. If you know AB, you know he doesn't have much use for superfluous gadgets and tools - simple and useful, but not gimmicky. That is exactly what these spring action grinders are. These are simple to fill and use (the time or two we have had difficulty, a large salt crystal was jammed against the grinding burr - a little shake and it shifted and was working easily again). The simple addition of the base to keep the bottoms clean and you have a winner. I love that Grind Gourmet is a small, family business (making the grinders in the US is the only thing I wish could change).

Gorgeous but stiff to use
Beautiful design--unique and eye-catching. But the "trigger" is very stiff and hard to control the amount of salt released. Overall, a lovely gift and attractive for table display. But not as easy to use as other grinders.

Small
These are really small. Also, not very easy to use. My thumbs get tired trying to grind the salt and pepper.

Difficult to press with just your thumb
It’s difficult to control the amount of salt you choose to use. It requires quite a bit of thumb strength. I do love the product. Especially with the handy acrylic salt and pepper shaker holder.

Beautiful-conversation starter-perfect for small spaces
I've loved these grinders for over a decade. They are super cool looking and work great. I can see how they may break over time....but I'm hoping that won't happen.Everyone who comes over notices them and wants to know where I got them.

Hard to use if you have finger, hand or wrist problems.
These are really well made and solid. I wish I could give them more stars but I can’t. If you are developing or have arthritis in your hands and fingers they are so difficult to use.

I'll pump over shake any day!
I love the spring loaded design of these grinders. Each pump shoots out the perfect amount of salt/pepper and is incredibly handy while your hands are busy in the kitchen. I surprised my roommates with these a few weeks ago, and everyone loves them! One thing I have learned is that it works a bit easier when you don't over fill the salt/pepper reservoir :)
