This is the ONLY Bread slicer to BUY!!!!!! Heavy duty wood!!! Durable!!! Do Not waste your time on one of the AdjustableBamboo slicing guides that fold with the bread knife. They weigh about as much as a Q-tip. Mama's Great Bamboo slicer has plenty of weight to not slide around on the counter. Very happy and pleased with this item!!! It is well worth the purchase for homemade bread.

This is a nice bread slicer but I do wish it had a thickness that's a little bit slimmer than the slimmer one on there.

I admit I've purchased several bread slicers including an electric one. None have been good. Either cheap material or the knife slots were too wide making for uneven slices. This one makes perfect slices. I didn't realize it had such a great design. The spacers and end pieces slide under the base to make it compact.

Too small

I purchased this slicing guide to go with Mama's Great Ultra Sharp Serrated Bread Knife for Homemade Bread with 10.5 Inch Wide Wavy Edge because I was having trouble cutting even slices of my bread machine loaves. My husband and I both heartily agree that it was a very good purchase. What nice slices we're getting using the knife with this slicing guide. For anyone having the problem of the guide sliding around while you're slicing, I spread out the dampened dish cloth that I use to clean the kitchen counters on the counter and placed the slicing guide on it. No sliding at all and it caught any crumbs that might drop under. I'll give the guide a coat of the same food grade mineral oil that I use on wooden cutting boards and bowls to keep the bamboo from drying out. We are very happy with this purchase!

This thing is useless! I bake all of my own bread from white sandwich bread to sourdough. This can’t even handle my white bread! 1. The balsa wood panels do not fit into the slots securely so they wobble around while you are trying to cut. 2. The balsa wood guides catch on the knife and either stops your blade as you cut or shaves off little slivers of wood. So stupid to use balsa wood where knives are in use! The base is the only quality thing about this product. The functioning pieces are absolute junk. Don’t waste your money!

Where has this been all my life? I've used bread machines off and on for decades. I recently bought a new one. This time I decided to get a bread slicer instead of always having varying sizes of bread slices. Even with a cast on my broken wrist, this sliced the bread perfectly. I did have to move the bread down a bit so I could continue to have the same sizes of slices. Very happy with this.

It assembles easily and is easy to wash and store. It does take some practice to get the slices just right. The price is fair.
