Fantastic replacement for OEM tires.
Improved traction. Still don’t tear up the lawn. Great value as wheels and tires come pre assembled! One would pay WAY more buying the tires and wheels separately. Weighted these with beet juice for added traction.

Climb steep hills with these bad boys!
I have some drainage ditches on two boundaries of our residential property. The standard turf tires on my mower will not always climb out of the ditch easily, especially when the ground is wet from the summer rainy season. I needed something with more aggressive tread. I was searching for bar tread that is commonly used on farm tractors when I found these tires ready-mounted on wheels that match my OEM wheels.I am very happy with how the tires perform. In the photo, you can see tracks cut by the tires but those are on the weedy surface of the undeveloped lot adjacent us. In the healthy turf on my side of the property line, the tires simply dig in and climb, without scarring the surface at all.Regardless of what these tires do to the ground surface, I do not get stuck in this ditch. Occasionally I have had to pull my mower out of this ditch with a come-along-winch when I got stuck with standard turf tires.Installation of the wheels/tires was pretty simple. My mower is almost new so the old wheels slid right off after the retainers were removed. I have taken wheels off of old fixer-upper mowers that was quite a chore though. Over time, rust might have seized the wheel to the axle on an old mower.I suggest applying a thin coat anti-seize compound to the axle when reassembling. In event that you want to switch back to your old wheels someday, or you need to repair a tire, this will ensure that it comes off easily the next time. When you get your new wheels and tires installed, you may need to readjust your deck level and height. The wheels were the same size as my OEM wheels but the deep treaded tires are a bit taller and wider on the outside measurement. (See photo of the OEM tire and the new tire side by side.) How to instructions, for adjusting your mower deck, are available on YouTube or from your local mower dealer.I encourage buying the tires already mounted on wheels. Having said that, these are priced so high from some Amazon sellers that I would not buy them ready-mounted. I received a pretty good sale price on this set.I have changed out tires on riding mowers before. I will only say that it is not a job for anybody without access to professional tire changing tools except maybe for a pretty resourceful DIYer.

Great traction!
I can do so much more mowing in my sloped yard than with the original tires. These make such a difference. I don't have to kill myself getting the mower unstuck any more. I used these on a craftsman riding mower and just took them to a tire shop to have the rims exchanged as these came with John Deere rims. I wish I had gotten these years ago!

I can now go up hills!
These are the tires my X300 needed for our hilly property. It makes it much safer to mow and easier to get around. The mower also rides smoother. They are slightly taller than my old tires so I will likely relevel my deck soon, but it did not seem to affect the mowing. I will need to get some shim washers as the width of the tube that slides over the axle is slightly shorter allowing the wheels to slide back and forth on the axle.Overall great tires and happy to have them.

Great tires / Exact fit
John Deere LA135. Installation was a breeze. Removal was a PITA!! Make sure to watch some YouTube videos on removal. I needed a mallet and a piece of wood to force one of the wheels off because it was rusted on.I then took some 220 grit sandpaper to smooth the axle and remove all of the rust. Then used some 000 Steel wool to buff. Greased the shift and the inside of the wheel and the went on easily.Tread is softer than the originals, but this is because they are meatier. Hard rubber means they are past their prime and it's time to change them. I should have done so a few years back. Some reviews mention a difference in the height and width when comparing to their current tires. One person stated that the tines of their tiller were now too high. Well...the tires come over inflated. I've read one review that claimed as much as 35 pounds. My order arrived today and each were 25. The Max is stated at 22 poounds, but do to the originals. This is the max rated pressure that is safe to use and not the recommended pressure. READ YOUR MANUAL PEOPLE!I run between 8-10 pounds of air pressure. This means when I release 12-14 pounds of air pressure, the tires will widen and also lower their height. This is exactly what happened to mine. They look more square like the stock tires and the ride hight is the same.To those who may come back and read reviews to see what others think, I hope they find this part helpful.Overall, tires seem great on my first mow. They ride good and traction is improved greatly. Should make pulling my weighted aerator a breeze this fall.Recommended.
