UltralifeU9VL-BP 9V Lithium Battery (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

HERE IN A SMALL TOWN, I HAVE DIFFICULTY IN FINDING THE LITHIUM 9V BATTERIES FOR REPLACEMENTS IN MY SECURITY SYSTEM. THIS PRODUCT FITS THE BILL ONE LINE.

I use these for wireless audio microphones. I get about 4 times the life, compared with a normal Duracell 1604. So if I can get them for 4X the price of an alkaline or less, I'm happy.These are very slightly longer than typical 9V batteries. I think the contacts stand off the top of the battery a little more, and the body is also just a tiny bit longer. This can have two complications.1) They may not fit in your battery compartment.2) After using them for awhile, you may find that the battery contacts in your unit have been stretched away enough that you have to bend the contacts back toward the battery, if you use alkalines again.I've had both of these situations occur. But I don't think it's common. They also last much longer in storage than alkalines.I buy about a hundred, then don't have to sweat about batteries for about a year or so.

same type of lithium battery as used by ADT technicians. Keep a spare handy in case they can't make it to your site in time.

I purchased 7 of these for our smoke detectors in Aug. 2010. One of the detectors began chirping with a dead battery at about 8 months. Two others went dead in the last week (Aug. 2011).

I have used this brand and type of battery for several years in my Smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors in my home with excellent life results.

I purchased 2 of these in 2010 for future use, Lithium batteries have a great shelf life. The packaging states "best if used by 2010". I opened one in 2013 to put in service, and it was dead. I opened the other package and it was completely dead too. I doubt they were any good when I got them in 2010. Don't waste your money!

This battery has lasted for 5 gigs so far. I typically get 1-2 per alkaline battery. This battery's well worth the extra cost

I used these batteries in microphones and did not see a significant longer life that standard alkaline batteries. Maybe 1.2 times but not 5 times longer.

An sich ist es top, wenn ich in ein Messgerät oder ähnliches statt einer Alkaline eine Lithium Batterie einsetzen kann. Sie hält länger und läuft nicht aus. Leider sind diese jedoch minimal zu groß. Sowohl in der Dicke und Breite sind sie ein paar Zehntel Millimeter größer und passen schon deshalb nur mit Nachdruck in die Batteriefächer. Aber zudem sind die Kanten weniger rund und z.B. im Batteriefach einer meiner Fernbedienungen ist das der KO. Das Batteriefach und der Deckel haben exakt diese Rundung an der Innenseite, die die normalen Alkaline Blöcke haben. Da ist nichts zu machen.Daher kann ich diesem technisch guten Produkt wegen des Größenmangels leider nur 3 Sterne geben.

Lieferung schnell und Batterien grössenmässig gut verpackt mit Plastigkappen auf den Polen zum schutz vor entladung - finde ich gut.Habe diese Batterien jetzt nochmal bestellt für zwei weitere Brandmelder. Mal sehen, wie lange diese halten gegenüber den "handelsüblichen". Werde dann später darüber eine Rezesion scheiben.Bis jetzt (ca. 1jahr in Betrieb keine probleme).

Warum passen fast alle Lithium-Blöcke NICHT in fast alle Rauchmelder? Warum sind diese Blöcke fast immer 2mm breiter?Passen sonst nicht alle Ionen rein, für die erforderlichen 9V?Kann mir das jemand erklären?

Für die Rauchmelder in meiner Wohnung kaufte ich mir 4 Ultralife Lithium-Batterien, weil sie für mich das beste Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis boten. Ich bin froh, jetzt diese langlebigen Batterien so günstig kaufen zu können; bislang musste ich jährlich auf die Leiter steigen, wenn die normalen Batterien "den Geist aufgaben".
