Is compatible and well made. All you need
Not a lot to say. This cable is one of the few that doesn't cause problems when trying to hook TB2 equipment to TB3 enabled computers with an adapter. I use this for a recording studio and it HAS to work every time. No excuses. This cable doesn't make any. You hook it up and then forget that it's there. Does the job consistently and quietly with no drama. Get this one.

Works with Apple Thunderbolt display
This works to connect my 2018 MacBook Pro to my Apple Thunderbolt display. I plug a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter into my computer and connect the adapter to this cable. Then plug the other end of this cable directly into the Thunderbolt 2 port on the back of the monitor. The thunderbolt displays are notorious for having their built in cables stop working, this avoids that issue altogether while also allowing my MacBook to be farther away from the monitor, like under my desk. The cable build quality feels decent but with how expensive this cable is and how obsolete it's becoming, I'm going to avoid bending it too much or causing stress on the jacketing or ends.

Good as OEM, with more options available
I needed a longer Thunderbolt 2 cable to connect a 4-disk, 16 TB RAID 5 array to a Mac mini, which is acting as a media server. In spite of the advertising, the 4-disk array makes a lot of noise, which kind of defeats the purpose of using it for storing music. I built a cabinet for it, with acoustic isolation and a fan, but needed an out of the way place to put it. The 3m Cable Matters cable let me do just that without compromising on speed. The Cable Matters cable works every bit as well and an OEM Apple cable, but with options for longer length and slightly lower cost. I can highly recommend it.

Working great from iMac to G-Raid storage!
I bought the long ten-foot version of this cable to allow me to move a noisy four-drive GRaid disk array off my desktop to under the desk. I also just switched to a 2019 iMac which no longer has the Thunderbolt 2 ports. I used a combo of this cable plus a USB3/T3 to T2 adapter to get the disk array moved and it has been working flawlessly for months. So, no qualms about highly recommending this cable for reliable heavy data transfer needs.

Was suspicious, but so far OK
I was disappointed to find that Apple doesn't make Thunderbolt cables longer than about 6ft, and I needed one to connect my voice over equipment to my Mac outside my booth. These ARE a little bit thinner than the nice white Apple cables, but so far, I'm having no issues with speed, bandwidth or anything else.I use this to connect my Apollo Twin X to my MacBook Pro outside my voiceover booth.
