Sevenhills Wholefoods Organic Vegan Protein Powder Shake, Cacao (Chocolate) 500g

In short... this tastes horrible. (Chocolate version)Love sevenhills as a company, but this product tastes awful. Mixed into porridge, and it's definitely a required taste. Will next time just mix as a drink and drink it down quick for a protein hit!Vanillia one slightly better, but not by much. Again, will woof down quick as a liquid form to get it over and done with. Play with ratios to perhaps get a right protein/ to taste that's palletable. Not sure I'd buy again mind you.*edit* vanilla one works well when cooked in with homemade rice pudding oddly enough! Also, into porridge, however add it in after cooking the porridge. Tastes better!

Firstly, I just want to say that I regularly purchase other products from Sevenhills Wholefoods and I have always been extremely happy with the quality so thought I'd give this chocolate protein shake a try. I now really wish I hadn't as this has to be the worst protein shake I have ever tasted (I've tried several different brands over the years)! As the title of this review suggests, it really is absolutely disgusting - not a hint of chocolate/cocoa at all. In fact, all I can taste is almond, despite almond not being amongst the list of ingredients.As I still have some of my usual protein shake left, I decided to try mixing the two together to see if this improved the taste. First, I tried mixing half of each which didn't help so I then tried 2-thirds original brand shake + 1-third Sevenhills shake. This did improve things slightly and the chocolate taste of my original brand shake did help to mask the awful taste of the Sevenhills. It looks like this is going to be the only way I'm going to be able to drink it as it's too expensive to simply throw it away. Suffice to say, I will not be purchasing this again and will be sticking to my usual brand from now on.Update: I have been unable to drink this even when mixed with my usual brand of shake so I've had to throw it away. What a complete waste of money.

But 5 stars for the following reasons. I've been trying to find a vegan protein powder which a) didn't have soy in it, b) didn't always come with a plastic scoop, and c) didn't have lots of added sweetner - this ticks all those boxes! I agree with the other reviewers that because there's no added sweetner, it does have a more 'earthy' taste but I feel that this is to be expected. I would imagine if you were drinking this with just water or milk, you won't like it, but if you're like me and mix it with fruit and yoghurt, it's perfectly fine. I also add honey sometimes if I do fancy it being a bit sweeter but it honestly doesn't need it. I will be buying again (when it's back in stock).

I bought this as it’s vegan and has no artificial sweeteners and was looking forward to receiving it. Tried it and boy was the taste a let down. Vanilla? Can’t taste it at all, in fact I can taste almond/marzipan which I really don’t like. Not a pleasant taste unfortunately. I will have to add it to smoothies.

I really like this protein shake. I feel more energetic and fills me up without the weight of carbs. I personally like the flavour a lot. I shake it vigorously in a shaker cup (that I use to drink it). The packaging was great but apparently it has been fixed. Well done. Love that it does have sugar cane ether so it is not overly sweet. I really missed it the couple of days it took to arrive. I really support organic products and this is a dam good one.

Does not mix well stays lumpy. Feels like eating peanut butter flaoting in water if used is just water, cannot use milk, milk is recommended, but I got this to stay away from milk. I took the boak whilst and after drinking this. It also has no taste, it smells like vanilla and that is where it stops. I could not recommend this to others to try.UpdateI bought a blender does make a difference. I add Peanut Butter, a banana and some blueberries and it tastes fine. on its own its vulger

Important that companies do the vegan thing, and I salute them for doing that, but, the taste was truly awful…. It tastes like it was 50% salt…. Big waste of money for me…

Das Pulver ist schön fein, die relativ geringen Mengen Kokosblütenzucker geben dem Ganzen einen leicht süßlichen Geschmack und man schmeckt auch die Vanille raus.Nichts desto trotz sollte man hier keine unglaubliche Geschmacksexplosion erwarten, da es insg. relativ stark nach puren Reis-Erbsen-Protein schmeckt. Man schmeckt also definitiv den erbsigen und reisartigen Geschmack, was ich persönlich jedoch nicht als störend oder eklig empfinde - Es ist sogar das Gegenteil!Der Preis ist meiner Meinung nach sehr fair und außerdem handelt es sich hierbei ausschließlich um Bio-Produkte aus der Soil Assosiation, die hinterher auch noch auf Schwermetalle, Pestizide & etc. getestet werden (das sagt zumindest das Unternehmen selbst) - Fazit: I like it!

Von den Inhaltsstoffen überzeugt das Proteinpulver.Geschmacklich kommt der Kakao fast gar nicht durch und es schmeckt primär nach purem Erbsen- und Reisprotein, leider nicht mein Fall.
