A delightful classic!
This book still cracks me up! My childhood copy had fallen appear, so I had to buy a new copy for the next generation to enjoy. My 2–year-old nephew loves to have this read to him, and it’s about right for a 1st or 2nd grader to read on their own.

Quirky and Entertaining!
We've been reading this book almost every night since we got it last week. My 7 year old can't get enough of this silly owl. There are 4 or 5 stories within the book, each one is unique and displays Owl's charming naivete. My daughter's favorite is Teardrop Tea in which Owl thinks of "sad" things to induce tears into a kettle so he can heat them up and have teardrop tea. These sad things include chairs with broken legs, spoons that have fallen behind the stove never to be seen again, and books that cannot be read because some of the pages have fallen out. Another story has the nutty Owl contemplating how he can be upstairs AND downstairs at once because he likes both places so much. In another story, Owl flips out when he sees two bumps at the foot of his bed, which turn out to be his feet, but he never does figure that out and finally goes to sleep downstairs where he says he'll be "safe". Little kids should get a kick out of how daft Owl can be at times, but it's in a loveable way. He's found his way into our hearts and we look forward to reading more Owl books!

Love love love!!!!!!!! Good for any child from age 2 up
Every child would love the sweet stories about Owl. (And for that matter, also Frog and Toad, by the same author.) If you can find a version with included CD voiced by the author, Arnold Lobel, even better. We are enjoying these now with a second generation of children, and often gift these to other young families. Good for all ages, actually, as I too enjoy these stories. Over the years, I have found myself quoting the passages when appropriate. A plus for parents, the stories can be read in a few minutes, so tired little ones aren't kept up too late, and I don’t get bored.

Love this book
We love this book so much we had to get a second copy. Our first copy is an old hardcover. This is exactly the same but softcover (and not falling apart yet, lol!). It's a wonderfully funny story. We laugh every time.

El búho protagonista es bastante ingenuo y eso lo hace tierno y gracioso. Son varias historias sencillas, breves y bonitas.

Arnold Lobels stories about Owl are thought provoking, intelligent and written with compassion and humour. In appearance Owl resembles an old man. His preoccupations are those of the elderly and the small child. Tear- Water Tea is a contemplative story where Owl thinks about sad things, including pencils that are too short to use and mornings nobody saw because everybody was sleeping. As he reflects on these his tears fill the kettle, which he then boils and makes tea. In The Guest, Winter knocks at the door and Owl invites Winter in. They enjoy an evening together and when Winter leaves Owl experiences what all of us feel when an interesting and stimulating guest has left, tired, happy and relieved to have a bit of peace. A wonderful read.

E ci fa divertire facendoci pensare. DA LEGGERE con i bimbi! bellissimo
