It's good quality but it doesn't work with my Chromebook

I purchased this CAC reader and it has worked flawlessly. The setup was simple—just plugged it into my laptop (Windows/Mac/Linux compatible), and it was recognized immediately. It feels sturdy, and the connection is stable without any issues of disconnecting.I’ve had no trouble using it .

Was very neatly packed and received. Did you it one on laptop and worked perfectly fine, flashes read and grean when it is rrqding the card than stay great when it's has acknowledged the card in. Very good for the price.

This card reader works with Macs and other computers (once security root certificates are downloaded and installed.)If you're considering ordering one of these then get used to the disorganized+stale state of .mil and related web based (dis)information. You'll need to find, download and install root certificates onto the computer you intend to use this card reader with. It's tough to hold the manufacturer/seller responsible for not providing instructions for installing those certificates because not all "official" sites seem to maintain current/accurate instructions. (Use your favorite search engine to find Un-official installation instructions for your computer's OS and pay attention to the date when instructions were created.) Then grab the appropriate root certificate bundle (.zip file) and proceed.I took one star off of "Easy to Install" because I've done the installation for others and they obviously had problems. The card reader itself is plug-and-play. Just be prepared for a bit of play getting those root certificates installed on your computer.

Would not recognize the certificates on my CAC card.
