I used this bag for a weekend trip, and on my way home the metal buckle holding the leather strap began to stretch out and eventually break. The leather loop holding the buckle itself began to tear as well. The bag was not overloaded. The bag looks great, however the hardware is inferior and did not make it through a single use for me. I was able to return the bag with no fuss, however I would definitely NOT recommend purchasing this bag.

It's quite durable and made of sturdy genuine leather. Ample size for travel. An overall great product. Sensibly priced. I definitely recommend this.

I ordered this for an upcoming trip to Texas.I wanted a decent piece of soft luggage and this fits the bill perfectly.When reading some of the other reviews, you might notice that a few mention a smell that this bag gives off... Rest assured that it's nothing more than the odor of the oils used to tan the hide... And since this one is made of VEGETABLE TANNED leather, there's nothing off-gassing that's going to be harmful.There are also a couple reviews that mention the hardware not being very solid... And that's true to an extent.But if you don't plan on putting more than say 20 pounds in this bag, you'll be okay and it should do it's job as intended.I've bought leather goods that were made in the same way and they're usually lined with cotton canvas that's dyed green. I'd recommend packing your items in either plastic grocery bags, or in Ziploc bags to insure that the green dye doesn't bleed in case your new leather duffle gets wet.Another thing that's probably a good idea, would be to stuff the leather duffle with old towels as soon as it arrives at your home, and put a good coat of neutral shoe polish on it... Buff it well with a soft cloth.That should eliminate a lot of the "leather smell" and also protect the bag if it happens to get sprinkled with water or inadvertently rained on.As far as longevity, I'd say that this one will last me a good four years of regular use.As stated earlier, I wouldn't overpack this one... But keeping it to around 20 lbs ought to be okay.For example, I just finished packing it to be ready for next Monday.It's holding 10 pair of socks, eight pairs of boxers, one pair of Western boots, two pair of dress shoes, four belts, four pair of trousers, five shirts, a Dopp Kit, a small jewelry bag and a waist length jacket.It's very nicely filled out, but not bulging at any of the seams and it's weighing in at about 18 pounds.Hopefully I can get away without checking it into the baggage hold and will be able to carry it on the plane with me.

It came with a smell and I have tried everything to get the smell out. Color is beautiful and it’s soft with lots of room. Just smells and not a good smell.

The product was as advertised. Roomy and well crafted except for an awkward side pocket buckle. I would recommend it especially for the price. I have used it several times. Great valueUpdate: I have used this bag repeatedly and like it better and better. You can see by the photo how well it has held up. I liked it so much I have ordered 2 more as gifts. They look identical to my photo. These are a great value.

The color is more a reddish orange than brown. It feels as though it’s made from the most minimum of materials, the leather is paper thin and very very stiff. Not how sure it would hold up over the long term. The most striking characteristic is the smell. It has a horrible odor which permeated my house as soon as I opened the package. I intended to give this as a gift for Christmas but could not in any way pass the smell onto someone. I will be returning this and look for a cowhide bag of heavier quality. I didn’t really take the reviews for this as seriously as I should have as the smell was a common complaint.

We received the Vintage bag and it looks great. The zippers work smoothly and I like that each pocket that has a zipper has two so that you can zip from either side. The buckles are easy to latch and the color of the buckles compliments the leather. It's large enough to carry a weekend trip worth of items and easily fit in the overhead. You can carry it over your shoulder with the long shoulder strap or use the shorter handles. Both are comfortable to use.
