Boon Groovy Interlocking Plate & Bowl with Modware,Blue/Orange

The small detachable bowls are easy to put onto the lip of the main plate, but they can only really attach to the farthest side of the smaller bowl-like plate side because of its thicker walls. Still, this allows for a lot of customizing. The little bowls detach very easily, so are maybe not great until your kiddo gets mostly past throwing stuff. But, they're fantastic if you have a snacker (tiny amounts only!) or grazer (runs off with food -- small amounts are best since they may discard it whenever). The plate and bowls have non-slip material around the bottom, so they can't get accidentally knocked off often. The lip on the plate is low but distinct and significant, so it's that wonderful middle ground where they can learn to not just shove food to the edge without consequences, but don't end up shoving everything off.The spoons are okay, a bit shallow and over-round imho, but serviceable for some semi-solid foods like yogurt and pudding. The forks... They're effectively more like slotted spoons. It's not really possible to use them in the way that you expect forks to work. They work well only when fishing out pasta, etc from soup. In other words, rather than being what is one of the most used utensils, it is only good for very specific dishes. Meh.

I absolutely adore this little set. It is a lot smaller than I expected but once you put the food in it you realize it's just right. The two dipping bowls are only resting on the bowl so they come off very easily which is nice when you want to clean it but it's annoying when you pick it up or move it around. It's also quite the cleaning hazard as kids are drawn to it by it's adorable size and they can pick it right up and away flew anything that was in it. The spoon and the fork are a lot wider than other brands but turns out it perfectly avoids spills when going from plate to mouth. They also make it surprisingly easy to anything up. The bottom has a rubbery ring all the way around to supposedly stop it from sliding but it does NOT work. Overall, it's very inconvenient. You still have to hover if you don't want the plate to fly across the room, don't expect to use the dipping bowls much, and it is not microwave safe. It's cute and my daughter loves it so we use it every day but aside form the cuteness there's not much there.

We are just starting first foods so my baby is not throwing things or feeding himself yet, for us...this set works perfectly. I cant wait until I can put a little hummus in one side dish and a little almond butter in the other for dipping fun! I think he's gonna love it. It's worth mentioning that the fork and spoon in this set don't seem like the greatest due to their shape...the fork is more of a spoon...but again, they work for us right now so I have no complaints. As soon as I pull the little plate out of the dish strainer, my baby's face lights up because he knows it's yummy time. I love that he knows it's HIS dish in just over a week...not that he doesn't ogle my food too...but this cute set is distinctive enough looking that he recognizes it right away.

This plate has been great to use. I like how it has rubber around the bottom so my son can't move it around easily. The fork and spoon are perfect for my son, He has learned how to use a fork pretty well. The dipping cups are a little annoying. I wish they were just connected to the plate instead of removable. I've pretty much stopped using them because they just end up on the floor.

We bought the suction bowl that matches this set from Boon, and it was sooo great so I was hoping this set would be too. There is nothing wrong with it, but I hoped the pieces would stay together better since my little one throws everything on the floor constantly. The bowl was great, this set is just ok. The little bowls don't stay together and the 'no skid' thing on the bottom isn't as sticky as I had hoped. It looks really cool and I like it, it just didn't help us solve our problem of everything ending up on the floor.

This plate and utensils are working out very well for us! The two blue dip cups are perfect for just that, and they are removable for the meals where you don't need them. They attach anywhere along the outside edge of the bigger orange plate. The two orange plates stay together, and the smaller one has deeper sides.As for the the utensils, they are shallow, which seems to be a good thing. We have a set of OXO Tot utensils that are deeper, and my young toddler usually leaves half the food on his spoon. But these he cleans with every bite. :-) The fork isn't the best for stabbing, but that's ok because it scoops just fine.The set is dishwasher safe, but not microwave safe.

We have two sets of these for our kids. We love the bowl/plate and the two moveable dippers. Great for many types of meals and makes eating interesting for the kids. The utensils are fine for small kids but our 2.5 year old has no time for them as they are shallow so don't pick up much as the fork being plastic doesn't allow for picking up meat or other denser foods.

I wish I had laid more attention. I was anticipating something large enough to serve my just-turned-2 year old lunch on. This is more the size of something for a very small snack. But I do dig the attached little (emphasis on little) bowls that attach to the main dish. Had I not been so crazy busy with the holidays I'd probably have returned these. But I will try to make use of them, maybe for crafts?

This is a lovely set which I bought for my grandson. It's a wonderful colour for finding easily!
