Reliable, Affordable and Easy
The Eufy Motion Sensor is a solid choice if you’re looking to boost home security or automate some of your smart devices without breaking the bank. With a wide 100° field of view and a detection range up to 30 feet, it’s effective for entryways, hallways, or larger rooms. Setup is straightforward with the Eufy app, and because it’s wireless and battery-operated, you can place it wherever you need it. Plus, the battery lasts an impressively long time. I’ve had several motion sensors from other brands and sheaths seem to be replacing batteries! In terms of performance, it’s quick to respond, catching movement with minimal delay. It integrates nicely with other Eufy devices like cameras and alarm systems, and you can link it with Alexa or Google Assistant to make it part of a larger smart home setup. It’s great for things like triggering lights or notifications when you’re away. I use it with a Homey Pro to trigger lights etc.For anyone already using Eufy products, this motion sensor offers solid functionality, ease of use and good value.

All good so far - excellent system
Ordered this to extend my 2C camera system with Homebase2 into an alarm system. Having already purchased the keypad a few weeks ago it was time for a motion sensor. Very impressed so far. The sensor is small and quite discreet - and VERY easy to setup. Sync to your Homebase, give it a name - stick to the wall - job done. You can set this to "not react to motion" if you need to turn it off when in "Home" mode like me - that's done via the app. You can also setup various actions from the "Automation" options within the app. I have the alarm triggered when motion is detected in away mode (with 15 second alarm delay) and the alarm sound to replicate across homebase and some of my external 2C cameras and the other cameras that don't sound their siren plus the doorbell (which doesn't have a siren function) record video in the event of a siren activation.I used to have a Ring doorbell but that's now gone in the bin - this is far superior.Eufy seems like a solid system and has worked well and as expected on each test I've done plus a couple of false activations where I forgot about it and didn't key the code in quick enough.Few points to mention, yes the "siren" from the Homebase2 is pretty useless - BUT the siren sounds emitted from the cameras are pretty loud. Not enough that you can hear them from 2 streets away but certainly a deterrent I would hope.An external siren for this system is supposedly in the works and if it becomes available I will add it to my system. For the system as a whole considering price, installation, impact on your home (wires etc) - I am 100% an advocate and have recommended to several friends and family. For the benefits of the system I have described above I have;2C camera system with Homebase2(3 Cameras on total)"Add on" Video Doorbell"Add on" - Keypad"Add on" motion sensorsIn the near future I will be hooking up at least 2 of the external cameras to Solar Panels so I don't have to worry about charging them (the 3rd cam is on a north facing wall which never gets any direct sunlight so will not waste £50) on that one - I'll bite the bullet and charge it every 6 weeks or so.Final thought, aslong as your first purchase contains a Homebase - you can expand your system over time and at a pace to suit your appetite and wallet with all of the "add on" devices.Hope this helps

Works well, indoor only though.
I have two of these to cover a blind spots on a camera - you can link it via the Eufy App to trigger any camera on your system, you can adjust the sensitivity (how far it will pick up movement) and what sets it off - eg any movement or just people or cars etc. Be aware though, it is not weatherproof and because it is an infra red sensor detecting heat, it doesn't detect movement through a window, particularly double glazed. It runs on a battery that will run out at some point, it is not a standard battery size so I guess a new one will need to be purchased via Eufy. Annoyingly they do not make external weatherproof sensors so I have taped over all the areas where water might ingress, like the battery cover etc so will see how effective that is. I noticed online that a number of people have made various types of housings for theirs, time will tell what is actually effective. When it comes to adding to your system it is pretty straightforward - once you have found where to do it in the App. The instructions are useless because they say "Navigate to Add Device" The problem is navigating there.... At the bottom of the page is an icon saying "Devices" Is it under that? No... The front of the screen shows the devices you have under "My Devices" so you can see and click on each one to turn off etc. At the top of that screen is a small plus sign - that takes you to "Device Family" and a list appears of different devices you can add - the sensor is not shown. You have to go into "Alarm System" and it is listed there - Obviously!!! And now I want to change the settings, I can't find how to do that either.. Grrr!. I will get there, but the app could be better. BUT, the system works really well (once you have it the way you want it) and I have no monthly fees plus the cameras are solar powered - once bought there is no real ongoing cost apart from power to the hub so I would recommend it - Just need Eufy to give better instructions!
